c9f05dae46 Bug 765599: Make CSS insertRule methods throw SYNTAX_ERR when given an empty rule or more than one rule. r=bzbarsky 
This implements the proposed spec clarification in
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2013Feb/0229.html which
makes us compatible with WebKit on the insertRule tests in this patch.

I confirmed that the test reports 7 failures without the patch, but
passes with the patch.  (I'm a little disturbed by the way our
testharness.js integration elides runs of successive passes.)

c0a08c5665 Bug 835007: Make 'transition-property: all' work as an item within a list. r=bzbarsky 
No changes to the transition manager are needed since
nsTransitionManager::StyleContextChanged already makes the appropriate
calls to ConsiderStartingTransition for 'all', and that existing code
should work fine within a loop (just like the existing code to handle
shorthands or other property duplication works).

An alternative implementation strategy is to add "default-only"
versions of ResolveStyleFor and ResolvePseudoElementStyle and then
modify FileRules to support those, or use a cut-down custom version of
FileRules for them.  That would be faster, but more complicated on the
style set side.  We can always make that switch if we need to, I guess.

6a79d7f055 Bug 795520. Don't fail to return a computed CSS declaration just because the style change that will give us a presshell has not been processed yet. r=dbaron 
Another, more risky, option would be to always return a declaration
from getComputedStyle, even if we have no presshell, then just throw
(after flushing, as needed) if people try to get style info for it
just like we already do for declarations whose document loses a
presshell.  This might cause compat issues on sites that can deal with
null but not exceptions, though.  :(

cfc2ee3220 Bug 774169, patch 2: Add property_database.js entries for property aliases. r=bzbarsky 
This adds entries for property aliases as though they are shorthands.
This fits with the CSS working group's recent resolution to describe
aliases as shorthands, recorded in
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2012Aug/0770.html .

The property_database.js entries themselves are copied from the
non-alias entries for the properties, with these changes:
 (1) The property name is changed to the prefixed form
 (2) The domProp entry is changed to the prefixed form
 (3) Adding alias_for entries for each property.
 (4) When type is CSS_TYPE_LONGHAND in the target of the alias, type for
     the alias is CSS_TYPE_SHORTHAND_AND_LONGHAND and a subproperties
     entry is added with the target of the alias.

There are also some indentation fixes to the copied entries in
property_database.js (made before they were copied, and thus affecting
the original as well).

2dd8e1ccad Bug 774169, patch 1: Make the property_database.js-based tests call getComputedStyle() for all properties that are expected to have longhand behavior. r=bzbarsky 
This currently only affects the testing of overflow, but it will also
affect -moz-transform (and any other aliases implemented the same way)
after the later patches in this bug.

This special-cases text-decoration because text-decoration: inherit causes
the color to inherit in a way that we can't serialize the result (since
it's no longer "foreground").  (This isn't great; we might want to
consider fixing it somehow.)

This also converts all of the tests in layout/style/test/ to using
calc(), except that it duplicates all of the valid values and some of
the invalid values for 'width' and '-moz-column-rule-width' (which are
the two properties that intentionally have extensive calc() tests) in
property_database.js.

This implements my proposal in
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2011Apr/0381.html and
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-style/2011Apr/0387.html .  I
think it was a serious mistake to implement what the spec says, and I'm
fixing that mistake so that we have a chance to change the spec.

In other words, when an @keyframes rule has two key selectors at the
same time, the later one no longer overrides the entirety of the earlier
one.  The overriding is done for each property that's in the later rule.
(And the -moz-animation-timing-function is taken only from the keyframe
actually used for the given property; if there's no declaration there
then the computed value of the property is used.)

The test for @keyframes cascade fails without the patch; the test for
@keyframes cascade2 tests behavior that works both before and after the
patch.

10d96c7e70 Hold on to MediaQueryList objects that have listeners so that notification doesn't depend on GC timing. (Bug 716751) r=bzbarsky 
Note:  This also fixes a crash (when notifications happen) from
calling mql.addListeners(null).

This also fixes test_media_query_list.html so that the initial set of
tests doesn't keep running through the later tests.

The test for the null-dereference has been confirmed to crash without
the patch and pass with the patch.

The test for the gc issue has been confirmed to fail without the patch
and pass with the patch.

219025b071 Make nsRuleNode's use of font metrics for ch and ex units pass the correct language. (Bug 678671, patch 3) r=roc 
This makes these users (which are exceptions within layout, although
low-level enough that it won't matter for font inflation work) call
through to GetMetricsFor explicitly with the correct language, rather
than using the broken nsPresContext::GetMetricsFor and its
charset-detected language.

This improves the correctness of our behavior for 'ch' and 'ex' CSS
units when the font selection (or defaults) are language-dependent.  It
should also reduce the number of unique sets of font metrics requested
(which helps nsFontCache effectiveness).

7eb858b4c6 Fix css3-animations handling of properties that are not present in all keyframes to match WebKit and generally be more sensible. (Bug 649400) r=bzbarsky 
This inverts the relationship between segments and properties in the
animation data structures:  now each property has a set of segments,
since the segments differ between properties.

Furthermore, we now handle inability to interpolate between values by
dropping the entire property rather than dropping a single segment.

This patch has the side-effect of changing the representation of '0'
values in properties added by SVG to use the number representation
rather than the length representation.  This requires marking the
stroke-dashoffset:0 test in test_value_computation.html as known to
fail, since computed style code now returns 0 rather than 0px, and also
requires changing some inputs and results in some SMIL tests (which
seems like it's showing a bug that we can't interpolate between
equivalent values when we ought to be able to do so).
