If we allocate less than sizeof(struct attrlist) then we end up
corrupting memory or doing a ZERO_PTR_SIZE dereference.
This can only be triggered with CAP_SYS_ADMIN.

We fixed this to use free_netdev() instead of kfree() but unfortunately
free_netdev() doesn't accept NULL pointers. Smatch complains about
this, it's not something I discovered through testing.

The transaction task here is hp_sdc_tasklet() and it releases the lock.
The problem is if we aren't able to queue the transaction then we need
to release the lock ourselves.

There seems to be some confusion here which functions return positive
numbers and which return negative error codes.
copy_to_user() returns the number of bytes remaining to be copied but we
want to return -EFAULT.
The rest is just clean up. get_user() actually returns zero on success
and -EFAULT on error so we can preserve the error code. The
timeout_to_regval() function returns -EINVAL on failure, but we can
propogate that back instead of hardcoding -EINVAL ourselves.

This is harmless but cdc_ncm_setup() returns negative error codes
truncated to u8 values. There is only one caller and treats all
non-zero returns as errors but doesn't store the the return code. So
the code works correctly but it's messy and upsets the static checkers.

If we do a zero size allocation then it will oops. Also we can't be
sure the user passes us a NUL terminated string so I've added a
terminator.

Before we loop for next iteration we adjust the buffer pointer and
"resp_len":

resp_len -= (tlv_len + sizeof(tlv_hdr->header));
If "resp_len" gets set to negative then it counts as a high positive
value.

We recently added a cap on "max_wqe_allocated" in 43a6b4025c
('RDMA/ocrdma: Create IRD queue fix').
My static checker complains that the cap has a problem because it
casts large values to negative. "attrs->cap.max_send_wr" is a u32.
It comes from the user, but it's capped in ocrdma_check_qp_params() so
it can't wrap here.

My static checker complains correctly that this is potential NULL
dereference because debugfs functions return NULL on error. They return
an ERR_PTR if they are configured out.
We don't need to check for ERR_PTR because if debugfs is stubbed out the
dummy functions won't complain about that. We don't need to check the
values before calling debugfs_remove() because that accepts ERR_PTRs and
NULL pointers.
We don't need to set pkt->dfs_f_info to NULL in pkt_debugfs_dev_new()
because it was initialized with kzalloc() so I have removed that.

The rv6xx_clocks_per_unit() function pretends it can set flags in a u64
bitfield but really because "1" is an int it doesn't work for more than
32 bits. The only caller truncates the high bits away anyway. I've
just changed it to be a u32.

The original code used the wrong parameter to clear tx_atten[]. It
passed the number of elements instead of sizeof() the array to memset.
The other potential issue was that cphy_base[] wasn't cleared. I'm not
sure if that was a real problem or not, but I have cleared it in my
patch.
Instead of using memset(), this patch uses empty initializers as a
cleanup.

If new_mtu is very large then "new_mtu + ETH_HLEN + ETH_FCS_LEN" can
wrap and the check on the next line can underflow. This is one of those
bugs which can be triggered by the user if you have namespaces
configured.
Also since this is something the user can trigger then we don't want to
have dev_err() message.
This is a static checker fix and I'm not sure what the impact is.

The current test works fine in practice. The "amount" variable is
actually used as a boolean so negative values or any non-zero values
count as "true". However since we don't allow numbers greater than one,
let's not allow negative numbers either.

Smatch complains about the locking here because we mix spin_lock_irq()
with spin_lock_irqsave() in an unusual way. According to Smatch, it's
not always clear if the IRQs are enabled or disabled when we return. It
turns out this function is always called with IRQs enabled and we can
just use spin_lock_irq().
It's called from __enqueue_in_driver().

The lower layers of sysfs will not allow an "offset" of more than
GEN7_L3LOG_SIZE and also l3_access_valid() caps it a second time. But
it's a little easier to audit if we don't have to worry that the
subtraction will result in negative values.

The problem here is that "unsigned i" is always greater than or equal to
zero. These loops mostly have a second check for "(i == 0)" so only the
last two are actually buggy. The rest is just cleanup.
Bug 1: kv_force_dpm_highest() doesn't have an "(i == 0)" check so it's
a potential forever loop.
Bug 2: In kv_get_sleep_divider_id_from_clock() there is a typo and the
test is reversed "<=" vs ">" so we never enter the loop. That means
normally we return KV_MAX_DEEPSLEEP_DIVIDER_ID (5). The return value
from here is saved in ->DeepSleepDivId and I wasn't able to determine
how that is used. This is a static checker fix and I have not tested
it.

The current code returns a mix of acpi_status and kernel error codes.

This was found with a manual audit and I don't have a reproducer. We
limit ->calling_len and ->called_len when we get them from
copy_from_user() in x25_ioctl() so when they come from skb->data then
we should cap them there as well.

"tty->name" and "name" are a 64 character buffers. My static checker
complains because we add the "cf" on the front so it look like we are
copying a 66 character string into a 64 character buffer.
Also if the name is larger than IFNAMSIZ (16) it triggers a BUG_ON()
inside the call to alloc_netdev().
This is all under CAP_SYS_ADMIN so it's not a security fix, it just adds
a little robustness.

The alloc_rbio() frees "raid_map" and "bbio" on error, so there is a
potential double free bug in raid56_parity_write(). The
raid56_parity_write() and raid56_parity_recover() functions should still
free "raid_map" and "bbio" on error if other errors occur though, so I
have added some more calls to kfree().

My static checker complains that on some arches unsigned longs can be 8
characters which is larger than the buffer is only 6 chars.
Additionally, Ben Hutchings points out that the buffer actually holds
big endian data and the buffer we are reading from is CPU endian.
