Herbert Xu 996304bbea bridge: Do not send queries on multicast group leaves
As it stands the bridge IGMP snooping system will respond to
group leave messages with queries for remaining membership.
This is both unnecessary and undesirable. First of all any
multicast routers present should be doing this rather than us.
What's more the queries that we send may end up upsetting other
multicast snooping swithces in the system that are buggy.

In fact, we can simply remove the code that send these queries
because the existing membership expiry mechanism doesn't rely
on them anyway.

So this patch simply removes all code associated with group
queries in response to group leave messages.

Herbert Xu 3a92d687c8 crypto: sha512 - Avoid stack bloat on i386
Unfortunately in reducing W from 80 to 16 we ended up unrolling
the loop twice. As gcc has issues dealing with 64-bit ops on
i386 this means that we end up using even more stack space (>1K).

This patch solves the W reduction by moving LOAD_OP/BLEND_OP
into the loop itself, thus avoiding the need to duplicate it.

While the stack space still isn't great (>0.5K) it is at least
in the same ball park as the amount of stack used for our C sha1
implementation.

Note that this patch basically reverts to the original code so
the diff looks bigger than it really is.

While auditing LL_ALLOCATED_SPACE I noticed that packet_sendmsg_spkt

Herbert Xu bd4265fe36 bridge: Only flood unregistered groups to routers
The bridge currently floods packets to groups that we have never
seen before to all ports. This is not required by RFC4541 and
in fact it is not desirable in environment where traffic to
unregistered group is always present.

This patch changes the behaviour so that we only send traffic
to unregistered groups to ports marked as routers.

The user can always force flooding behaviour to any given port
by marking it as a router.

Note that this change does not apply to traffic to 224.0.0.X
as traffic to those groups must always be flooded to all ports.

Herbert Xu 903ab86d19 udp: Add lockless transmit path
The UDP transmit path has been running under the socket lock
for a long time because of the corking feature. This means that
transmitting to the same socket in multiple threads does not
scale at all.

However, as most users don't actually use corking, the locking
can be removed in the common case.

This patch creates a lockless fast path where corking is not used.

Please note that this does create a slight inaccuracy in the
enforcement of socket send buffer limits. In particular, we
may exceed the socket limit by up to (number of CPUs) * (packet
size) because of the way the limit is computed.

As the primary purpose of socket buffers is to indicate congestion,
this should not be a great problem for now.

Herbert Xu 1c32c5ad6f inet: Add ip_make_skb and ip_finish_skb
This patch adds the helper ip_make_skb which is like ip_append_data
and ip_push_pending_frames all rolled into one, except that it does
not send the skb produced. The sending part is carried out by
ip_send_skb, which the transport protocol can call after it has
tweaked the skb.

It is meant to be called in cases where corking is not used should
have a one-to-one correspondence to sendmsg.

This patch also adds the helper ip_finish_skb which is meant to
be replace ip_push_pending_frames when corking is required.
Previously the protocol stack would peek at the socket write
queue and add its header to the first packet. With ip_finish_skb,
the protocol stack can directly operate on the final skb instead,
just like the non-corking case with ip_make_skb.

Herbert Xu 6b0d6a9b42 bridge: Fix mglist corruption that leads to memory corruption
The list mp->mglist is used to indicate whether a multicast group
is active on the bridge interface itself as opposed to one of the
constituent interfaces in the bridge.

Unfortunately the operation that adds the mp->mglist node to the
list neglected to check whether it has already been added. This
leads to list corruption in the form of nodes pointing to itself.

Normally this would be quite obvious as it would cause an infinite
loop when walking the list. However, as this list is never actually
walked (which means that we don't really need it, I'll get rid of
it in a subsequent patch), this instead is hidden until we perform
a delete operation on the affected nodes.

As the same node may now be pointed to by more than one node, the
delete operations can then cause modification of freed memory.

This was observed in practice to cause corruption in 512-byte slabs,
most commonly leading to crashes in jbd2.

Thanks to Josef Bacik for pointing me in the right direction.

Herbert Xu 8ff590903d crypto: algif_skcipher - User-space interface for skcipher operations
This patch adds the af_alg plugin for symmetric key ciphers,
corresponding to the ablkcipher kernel operation type.

Keys can optionally be set through the setsockopt interface.

Once a sendmsg call occurs without MSG_MORE no further writes
may be made to the socket until all previous data has been read.

IVs and and whether encryption/decryption is performed can be
set through the setsockopt interface or as a control message
to sendmsg.

The interface is completely synchronous, all operations are
carried out in recvmsg(2) and will complete prior to the system
call returning.

The splice(2) interface support reading the user-space data directly
without copying (except that the Crypto API itself may copy the data
if alignment is off).

The recvmsg(2) interface supports directly writing to user-space
without additional copying, i.e., the kernel crypto interface will
receive the user-space address as its output SG list.

Herbert Xu fe869cdb89 crypto: algif_hash - User-space interface for hash operations
This patch adds the af_alg plugin for hash, corresponding to
the ahash kernel operation type.

Keys can optionally be set through the setsockopt interface.

Each sendmsg call will finalise the hash unless sent with a MSG_MORE
flag.

Partial hash states can be cloned using accept(2).

The interface is completely synchronous, all operations will
complete prior to the system call returning.

Both sendmsg(2) and splice(2) support reading the user-space
data directly without copying (except that the Crypto API itself
may copy the data if alignment is off).

For now only the splice(2) interface supports performing digest
instead of init/update/final. In future the sendmsg(2) interface
will also be modified to use digest/finup where possible so that
hardware that cannot return a partial hash state can still benefit
from this interface.

Herbert Xu 03c8efc1ff crypto: af_alg - User-space interface for Crypto API
This patch creates the backbone of the user-space interface for
the Crypto API, through a new socket family AF_ALG.

Each session corresponds to one or more connections obtained from
that socket. The number depends on the number of inputs/outputs
of that particular type of operation. For most types there will
be a s ingle connection/file descriptor that is used for both input
and output. AEAD is one of the few that require two inputs.

Each algorithm type will provide its own implementation that plugs
into af_alg. They're keyed using a string such as "skcipher" or
"hash".

IOW this patch only contains the boring bits that is required
to hold everything together.

Herbert Xu 8a35747a5d macvtap: Limit packet queue length
Mark Wagner reported OOM symptoms when sending UDP traffic over
a macvtap link to a kvm receiver.

This appears to be caused by the fact that macvtap packet queues
are unlimited in length. This means that if the receiver can't
keep up with the rate of flow, then we will hit OOM. Of course
it gets worse if the OOM killer then decides to kill the receiver.

This patch imposes a cap on the packet queue length, in the same
way as the tuntap driver, using the device TX queue length.

Please note that macvtap currently has no way of giving congestion
notification, that means the software device TX queue cannot be
used and packets will always be dropped once the macvtap driver
queue fills up.

This shouldn't be a great problem for the scenario where macvtap
is used to feed a kvm receiver, as the traffic is most likely
external in origin so congestion notification can't be applied
anyway.

Of course, if anybody decides to complain about guest-to-guest
UDP packet loss down the track, then we may have to revisit this.

Incidentally, this patch also fixes a real memory leak when
macvtap_get_queue fails.

Chris Wright noticed that for this patch to work, we need a
non-zero TX queue length. This patch includes his work to change
the default macvtap TX queue length to 500.

There are multiple problems with the newly added netpoll support:

1) Use-after-free on each netpoll packet.
2) Invoking unsafe code on netpoll/IRQ path.
3) Breaks when netpoll is enabled on the underlying device.

This patch fixes all of these problems. In particular, we now
allocate proper netpoll structures for each underlying device.

We only allow netpoll to be enabled on the bridge when all the
devices underneath it support netpoll. Once it is enabled, we
do not allow non-netpoll devices to join the bridge (until netpoll
is disabled again).

This allows us to do away with the npinfo juggling that caused

Herbert Xu f845172531 cls_cgroup: Store classid in struct sock
Up until now cls_cgroup has relied on fetching the classid out of
the current executing thread. This runs into trouble when a packet
processing is delayed in which case it may execute out of another
thread's context.

Furthermore, even when a packet is not delayed we may fail to
classify it if soft IRQs have been disabled, because this scenario
is indistinguishable from one where a packet unrelated to the
current thread is processed by a real soft IRQ.

In fact, the current semantics is inherently broken, as a single
skb may be constructed out of the writes of two different tasks.
A different manifestation of this problem is when the TCP stack
transmits in response of an incoming ACK. This is currently
unclassified.

As we already have a concept of packet ownership for accounting
purposes in the skb->sk pointer, this is a natural place to store
the classid in a persistent manner.

This patch adds the cls_cgroup classid in struct sock, filling up
an existing hole on 64-bit :)

The value is set at socket creation time. So all sockets created
via socket(2) automatically gains the ID of the thread creating it.
Whenever another process touches the socket by either reading or
writing to it, we will change the socket classid to that of the
process if it has a valid (non-zero) classid.

For sockets created on inbound connections through accept(2), we
inherit the classid of the original listening socket through
sk_clone, possibly preceding the actual accept(2) call.

In order to minimise risks, I have not made this the authoritative
classid. For now it is only used as a backup when we execute
with soft IRQs disabled. Once we're completely happy with its
semantics we can use it as the sole classid.

Footnote: I have rearranged the error path on cls_group module
creation. If we didn't do this, then there is a window where
someone could create a tc rule using cls_group before the cgroup
subsystem has been registered.

When GRO produces fraglist entries, and the resulting skb hits
an interface that is incapable of TSO but capable of FRAGLIST,
we end up producing a bogus packet with gso_size non-zero.

This was reported in the field with older versions of KVM that
did not set the TSO bits on tuntap.

This patch fixes that.

This patch replaces the boolean dead flag on inet6_ifaddr with

This patch only adds the state field and does not change the logic.

Herbert Xu 180ce7e810 crypto: authenc - Add EINPROGRESS check
When Steffen originally wrote the authenc async hash patch, he
correctly had EINPROGRESS checks in place so that we did not invoke
the original completion handler with it.

Unfortuantely I told him to remove it before the patch was applied.

As only MAY_BACKLOG request completion handlers are required to
handle EINPROGRESS completions, those checks are really needed.

This patch restores them.

Herbert Xu 6651ffc8e8 ipv6: Fix tcp_v6_send_response transport header setting.
My recent patch to remove the open-coded checksum sequence in
tcp_v6_send_response broke it as we did not set the transport
header pointer on the new packet.

Actually, there is code there trying to set the transport
header properly, but it sets it for the wrong skb ('skb'
instead of 'buff').

Herbert Xu 6072f7491f ide: Requeue request after DMA timeout
I noticed that my KVM virtual machines were experiencing IDE
issues resulting in processes stuck on waiting for buffers to
complete.

The root cause is of course race conditions in the ancient qemu
backend that I'm using. However, the fact that the guest isn't
recovering is a bug.

I've tracked it down to the change made last year to dequeue
requests at the start rather than at the end in the IDE layer.

    ide: dequeue in-flight request

The problem is that the function ide_dma_timeout_retry does not
requeue the current request, causing one request to be lost for
each DMA timeout.

This patch fixes this by requeueing the request.
