l2tp: l2tp_ppp must ignore non-PPP sessions
The original L2TP code was written for version 2 of the protocol, which
could only carry PPP sessions. Then L2TPv3 generalised the protocol so that
it could transport different kinds of pseudo-wires. But parts of the
l2tp_ppp module still break in presence of non-PPP sessions.
Assuming L2TPv2 tunnels can only transport PPP sessions is right, but
l2tp_netlink failed to ensure that (fixed in patch 1).
When retrieving a session from an arbitrary tunnel, l2tp_ppp needs to
filter out non-PPP sessions (last occurrence fixed in patch 2).

mlxsw: IPv6 and reference counting fixes
The first three patches fix a mismatch between the new IPv6 behavior
introduced in commit f34436a430 ("net/ipv6: Simplify route replace and
appending into multipath route") and mlxsw. The patches allow the driver
to support multipathing in IPv6 overlays with GRE tunnel devices. A
selftest will be submitted when net-next opens.
The last patch fixes a reference count problem of the port_vlan struct.
I plan to simplify the code in net-next, so that reference counting is
not necessary anymore.

This series fixes a few remaining issues with pppol2tp_connect().
It doesn't try to prevent invalid configurations that have no effect on

Patch 2 is the most important as it avoids an invalid pointer
dereference crashing the kernel. It depends on patch 1 for correctly
identifying L2TP session types.

interrupts were reinitialized when enabling MACVLAN interfaces. Updated
to use CONFIG_XFRM_OFFLOAD instead of CONFIG_XFRM, since the code
requires CONFIG_XFRM_OFFLOAD to be enabled. Moved the IPsec
initialization function to be more consistent with the placement of
similar initialization functions and before the call to reset the
hardware, which will clean up any link issues that may have been
introduced. Fixed the boolean logic that was testing for transmit OR
receive ready bits, when it should have been testing for transmit AND
receive ready bits. Fixed the bit definitions for SECTXSTAT and SECRXSTAT
registers and ensure that if IPsec is disabled on the part, do not
enable it.

sparc64: Add privileged ADI driver
ADI is a feature supported on SPARC M7 and newer processors to allow
hardware to catch rogue accesses to memory. ADI is supported for data
fetches only and not instruction fetches. An app can enable ADI on its
data pages, set version tags on them and use versioned addresses to
access the data pages. Upper bits of the address contain the version
tag. On M7 processors, upper four bits (bits 63-60) contain the version
tag. If a rogue app attempts to access ADI enabled data pages, its
access is blocked and processor generates an exception. Please see
Documentation/sparc/adi.txt for further details.
This patchset implements a char driver to read/write ADI versions from
privileged user space processes. Intended consumers are makedumpfile
and crash.

pull-request: bpf-next 2018-06-05
The following pull-request contains BPF updates for your *net-next* tree.
The main changes are:
1) Add a new BPF hook for sendmsg similar to existing hooks for bind and
connect: "This allows to override source IP (including the case when it's
set via cmsg(3)) and destination IP:port for unconnected UDP (slow path).
TCP and connected UDP (fast path) are not affected. This makes UDP support
complete, that is, connected UDP is handled by connect hooks, unconnected
by sendmsg ones.", from Andrey.
2) Rework of the AF_XDP API to allow extending it in future for type writer
model if necessary. In this mode a memory window is passed to hardware
and multiple frames might be filled into that window instead of just one
that is the case in the current fixed frame-size model. With the new
changes made this can be supported without having to add a new descriptor
format. Also, core bits for the zero-copy support for AF_XDP have been
merged as agreed upon, where i40e bits will be routed via Jeff later on.
Various improvements to documentation and sample programs included as
well, all from Björn and Magnus.
3) Given BPF's flexibility, a new program type has been added to implement
infrared decoders. Quote: "The kernel IR decoders support the most
widely used IR protocols, but there are many protocols which are not
supported. [...] There is a 'long tail' of unsupported IR protocols,
for which lircd is need to decode the IR. IR encoding is done in such
a way that some simple circuit can decode it; therefore, BPF is ideal.
[...] user-space can define a decoder in BPF, attach it to the rc
device through the lirc chardev.", from Sean.
4) Several improvements and fixes to BPF core, among others, dumping map
and prog IDs into fdinfo which is a straight forward way to correlate
BPF objects used by applications, removing an indirect call and therefore
retpoline in all map lookup/update/delete calls by invoking the callback
directly for 64 bit archs, adding a new bpf_skb_cgroup_id() BPF helper
for tc BPF programs to have an efficient way of looking up cgroup v2 id
for policy or other use cases. Fixes to make sure we zero tunnel/xfrm
state that hasn't been filled, to allow context access wrt pt_regs in
32 bit archs for tracing, and last but not least various test cases
for fixes that landed in bpf earlier, from Daniel.
5) Get rid of the ndo_xdp_flush API and extend the ndo_xdp_xmit with
a XDP_XMIT_FLUSH flag instead which allows to avoid one indirect
call as flushing is now merged directly into ndo_xdp_xmit(), from Jesper.
6) Add a new bpf_get_current_cgroup_id() helper that can be used in
tracing to retrieve the cgroup id from the current process in order
to allow for e.g. aggregation of container-level events, from Yonghong.
7) Two follow-up fixes for BTF to reject invalid input values and
related to that also two test cases for BPF kselftests, from Martin.
8) Various API improvements to the bpf_fib_lookup() helper, that is,
dropping MPLS bits which are not fully hashed out yet, rejecting
invalid helper flags, returning error for unsupported address
families as well as renaming flowlabel to flowinfo, from David.
9) Various fixes and improvements to sockmap BPF kselftests in particular
in proper error detection and data verification, from Prashant.
10) Two arm32 BPF JIT improvements. One is to fix imm range check with
regards to whether immediate fits into 24 bits, and a naming cleanup
to get functions related to rsh handling consistent to those handling
lsh, from Wang.
11) Two compile warning fixes in BPF, one for BTF and a false positive
to silent gcc in stack_map_get_build_id_offset(), from Arnd.
12) Add missing seg6.h header into tools include infrastructure in order
to fix compilation of BPF kselftests, from Mathieu.
13) Several formatting cleanups in the BPF UAPI helper description that
also fix an error during rst2man compilation, from Quentin.
14) Hide an unused variable in sk_msg_convert_ctx_access() when IPv6 is
not built into the kernel, from Yue.

net: phy: improve PM handling of PHY/MDIO
Current implementation of MDIO bus PM ops doesn't actually implement
bus-specific PM ops but just calls PM ops defined on a device level
what doesn't seem to be fully in line with the core PM model.
When looking e.g. at __device_suspend() the PM core looks for PM ops
of a device in a specific order:
1. device PM domain
2. device type
3. device class
4. device bus
I think it has good reason that there's no PM ops on device level.
The situation can be improved by modeling PHY's as device type of
a MDIO device. If for some other type of MDIO device PM ops are
needed, it could be modeled as struct device_type as well.

5) From Ilan and Adi, Handle QP error events in FPGA
6) From Tariq, last 10 patches mainly deals with RX buffer scheme improvements for legacy RQ
to use only order-0 pages and fragmented SKBs for large MTUs.
- Tariq starts with some refactoring and removing HW LRO support from traditional
(legacy) RQ, since it complicates the buffer scheme and removing it makes it smoother
to move to cyclic descriptor buffer for traditional RQ.
- Use cyclic WQ in legacy RQ, which has many benefits and paves the way for fragmented SKBs
for large MTUs.
- Enhance legacy Receive Queue memory scheme, such that only order-0 pages are used.
Whenever possible, prefer using a linear SKB, and build it wrapping the WQE buffer.
Otherwise (for example, jumbo frames on x86), use non-linear SKB, with as many frags
as needed. In this case, multiple WQE scatter entries are used, up to a maximum of 4
frags and 10KB of MTU.
- TX statistics access improvements.

net: bridge: Notify about bridge VLANs
In commit 946a11e740 ("mlxsw: spectrum_span: Allow bridge for gretap
mirror"), mlxsw got support for offloading mirror-to-gretap such that
the underlay packet path involves a bridge. In that case, the offload is
also influenced by PVID setting of said bridge. However, changes to VLAN
configuration of the bridge itself do not generate switchdev
notifications, so there's no mechanism to prod mlxsw to update the
offload when these settings change.
In this patchset, the problem is resolved by distributing the switchdev
notification SWITCHDEV_OBJ_ID_PORT_VLAN also for configuration changes
on bridge VLANs. Since stacked devices distribute the notification to
lower devices, such event eventually reaches the driver, which can
determine whether it's a bridge or port VLAN by inspecting orig_dev.
To keep things consistent, the newly-distributed notifications observe
the same protocol as the existing ones: dual prepare/commit, with
-EOPNOTSUPP indicating lack of support, even though there's currently
nothing to prepare for and nothing to support. Correspondingly, all
switchdev drivers have been updated to return -EOPNOTSUPP for bridge
VLAN notifications.
In patches #1 and #2, the code base is changed to support the following
additions: functions br_switchdev_port_vlan_add() and
br_switchdev_port_vlan_del() are introduced to simplify sending
notifications; and br_vlan_add_existing() is introduced to later make it
simpler to add error-handling code for the case of configuring a
preexisting VLAN on bridge CPU port.
In patches #3-#6, respectively for mlxsw, rocker, DSA and DPAA2 ethsw,
the new notifications (which are not enabled yet) are ignored to
maintain the current behavior.
In patch #7, the notification is actually enabled.
In patch #8, mlxsw is changed to update offloads of mirror-to-gre also
for bridge-related notifications.
Changes from v3 to v4:
- In patch #1, separate variable declarations from program logic.
- Add patch #2.
- In patch #7, add error handling around a newly-introduced call to
br_switchdev_port_vlan_add().
- Rephrase commit messages of patches #3-#6 to explain motivation for
the change.
Changes from v2 to v3:
- Add a fallback definition for br_switchdev_port_obj_add() and
br_switchdev_port_obj_del() when !CONFIG_NET_SWITCHDEV.
Changes from v1 to v2:
- Rename br_switchdev_port_obj_add() and br_switchdev_port_obj_del() to

net: Add address attribute to control metric of prefix route
For use cases such as VRR (Virtual Router Redundancy) interface managers
want efficient control over the order of prefix routes when multiple
interfaces have addresses with overlapping/duplicate subnets.
Currently, if two interfaces have addresses in the same subnet, the order
of the prefix route entries is determined by the order in which the
addresses are assigned or the links brought up. Any actions like cycling
an interface up and down changes that order. This set adds a new attribute
for addresses to allow a user to specify the metric of the prefix route
associated with an address giving interface managers better and more
efficient control of the order of prefix routes.
Patches 1-3 refactor IPv6 address add functions to pass an ifa6_config
struct. The functions currently have a long list of arguments and adding
the metric just makes it worse. Because of the overall diff size in
moving the arguments to a struct, the change is done in stages to make
it easier to review starting with the bottom function and pushing the
struct up to callers in each successive patch.
Patch 4 introduces the new attribute.
Patches 5 and 6 add support for the new attribute to IPv4 and IPv6

nfp: abm: RED/MQ qdisc offload
This is second batch of advanced buffer management nfp driver
changes. This series adds the qdisc offload. Support for
a very simple subset of RED qdisc offload is added as needed
for DCTCP ECN marking (min and max thresholds set to the same
value).
The first two patches fix glitches introduced by the previous
series. We have to be careful about phys_port_name handling,
because VFs share the same code path, and some user space may
get confused by the names we chose.
Since unlike previous offloads we can report the queue backlog
both in bytes and packets we need to adjust how statistics are
added up in the core (patch 6).
There are some extra statistics we want to expose which don't
fit into TC stats, namely counts of packets which have been fast-
-forwarded without getting enqueued because there was no
contention and number of packets that were ever queued (sum of
all momentary backlogs). We expose those through ethtool stats
(patches 8 and 9).
Remaining 5 patches add MQ offload - to be able to set different
configurations on different queues. Representors are made multi-
-queue and we add offload support to MQ. MQ stats are added up
before calling ->dump qdiscs on the children, and therefore don't
include updated offload values. To avoid clearly incorrect stats
MQ is made to also request stats update from offloads. This way
we can correct the diff at the driver level.

mlx5e-updates-2018-05-25
This series includes updates for mlx5e netdev driver.
1) Allowr flow based VF vport mirroring under sriov switchdev scheme,
added support for offloading the TC mirred mirror sub-action, from
Chris Mi.
=================
From: Or Gerlitz <ogerlitz@mellanox.com>
The user will typically set the actions order such that the mirror
port (mirror VF) sees packets as the original port (VF under
mirroring) sent them or as it will receive them. In the general case,
it means that packets are potentially sent to the mirror port before
or after some actions were applied on them.
To properly do that, we follow on the exact action order as set for
the flow and make sure this will also be the case when we program the
HW offload.
If all the actions should apply before forwarding to the mirror and dest port,
mirroring is just multicasting to the two vports. Otherwise, we split
the TC flow to two HW rules, where the 1st applies only the actions
needed up to the mirror (if there are such) and the 2nd the rest of
the actions plus the forwarding to the dest vport.

Enable virtio_net to act as a standby for a passthru device
The main motivation for this patch is to enable cloud service providers
to provide an accelerated datapath to virtio-net enabled VMs in a
transparent manner with no/minimal guest userspace changes. This also
enables hypervisor controlled live migration to be supported with VMs that
have direct attached SR-IOV VF devices.
Patch 1 introduces a failover module that provides a generic interface for
paravirtual drivers to listen for netdev register/unregister/link change
events from pci ethernet devices with the same MAC and takeover their
datapath. The notifier and event handling code is based on the existing
netvsc implementation.
Patch 2 refactors netvsc to use the registration/notification framework
introduced by failover module.
Patch 3 introduces a net_failover driver that provides an automated
failover mechanism to paravirtual drivers via APIs to create and destroy
a failover master netdev and mananges a primary and standby slave netdevs
that get registered via the generic failover infrastructure.
Patch 4 introduces a new feature bit VIRTIO_NET_F_STANDBY to virtio-net
that can be used by hypervisor to indicate that virtio_net interface
should act as a standby for another device with the same MAC address.
Patch 5 extends virtio_net to use alternate datapath when available and
registered. When STANDBY feature is enabled, virtio_net driver uese the
net_failover API to create an additional 'failover' netdev that acts as
a master device and controls 2 slave devices. The original virtio_net
netdev is registered as 'standby' netdev and a passthru/vf device with
the same MAC gets registered as 'primary' netdev. Both 'standby' and
'failover' netdevs are associated with the same 'pci' device. The user
accesses the network interface via 'failover' netdev. The 'failover'
netdev chooses 'primary' netdev as default for transmits when it is
available with link up and running.
As this patch series is initially focusing on usecases where hypervisor
fully controls the VM networking and the guest is not expected to directly
configure any hardware settings, it doesn't expose all the ndo/ethtool ops
that are supported by virtio_net at this time. To support additional usecases,
it should be possible to enable additional ops later by caching the state
in failover netdev and replaying when the 'primary' netdev gets registered.
At the time of live migration, the hypervisor needs to unplug the VF device
from the guest on the source host and reset the MAC filter of the VF to
initiate failover of datapath to virtio before starting the migration. After
the migration is completed, the destination hypervisor sets the MAC filter
on the VF and plugs it back to the guest to switch over to VF datapath.
This patch is based on the discussion initiated by Jesse on this thread.
https://marc.info/?l=linux-virtualization&m=151189725224231&w=2
v12:
- Tested live migration with virtio-net/AVF(i40evf) configured in failover
mode while running iperf in background. Tried static ip and dhcp
configurations using 'network' scripts and Network Manager.
- Build tested netvsc module.
Updates:
- Extended generic failover module to do common functions like setting
FAILOVER_SLAVE flag, registering rx-handler and linking to upper dev in
the generic register/unregister handlers.
This required adding 3 additional failover ops pre_register, pre_unregister
and handle_frame. netvsc and net_failover drivers are updated to support
these ops.
v11:
- Split net_failover module into 2 components.
1. 'failover' module that provides generic failover infrastructure
to register a failover instance and listen for slave events.
2. 'net_failover' driver that provides APIs to create/destroy upper
netdev and supports 3-netdev model used by virtio-net.
- Added documentation
v10:
- fix net_failover_open() to update failover CARRIER correctly based on
standby and primary states.
- fix net_failover_handle_frame() to handle frames received on standby
when primary is present.
- replace netdev_upper_dev_link with netdev_master_upper_dev_link and
handle lower dev state changes.
- fix net_failver_create() and net_failover_register() interfaces to
use ERR_PTR and avoid arg **
- disable setting mac address when virtio-net in STANDBY mode
- document exported symbols
- added entry to MAINTAINERS file
v9:

v8:
- Made the failover managment routines more robust by updating the feature
bits/other fields in the failover netdev when slave netdevs are
registered/unregistered. (mst)
- added support for handling vlans.
- Limited the changes in netvsc to only use the notifier/event/lookups
from the failover module. The slave register/unregister/link-change
handlers are only updated to use the getbymac routine to get the
upper netdev. There is no change in their functionality. (stephen)
- renamed structs/function/file names to use net_failover prefix. (mst)
v7
- Rename 'bypass/active/backup' terminology with 'failover/primary/standy'
(jiri, mst)
- re-arranged dev_open() and dev_set_mtu() calls in the register routines
so that they don't get called for 2-netdev model. (stephen)
- fixed select_queue() routine to do queue selection based on VF if it is
registered as primary. (stephen)
- minor bugfixes
v6 RFC:
Simplified virtio_net changes by moving all the ndo_ops of the
bypass_netdev and create/destroy of bypass_netdev to 'bypass' module.
avoided 2 phase registration(driver + instances).
introduced IFF_BYPASS/IFF_BYPASS_SLAVE dev->priv_flags
replaced mutex with a spinlock
v5 RFC:
Based on Jiri's comments, moved the common functionality to a 'bypass'
module so that the same notifier and event handlers to handle child
register/unregister/link change events can be shared between virtio_net
and netvsc.
Improved error handling based on Siwei's comments.
v4:
- Based on the review comments on the v3 version of the RFC patch and
Jakub's suggestion for the naming issue with 3 netdev solution,
proposed 3 netdev in-driver bonding solution for virtio-net.
v3 RFC:
- Introduced 3 netdev model and pointed out a couple of issues with
that model and proposed 2 netdev model to avoid these issues.
- Removed broadcast/multicast optimization and only use virtio as
backup path when VF is unplugged.
v2 RFC:
- Changed VIRTIO_NET_F_MASTER to VIRTIO_NET_F_BACKUP (mst)
- made a small change to the virtio-net xmit path to only use VF datapath
for unicasts. Broadcasts/multicasts use virtio datapath. This avoids
east-west broadcasts to go over the PCI link.
- added suppport for the feature bit in qemu

openvswitch: Support conntrack zone limit
Currently, nf_conntrack_max is used to limit the maximum number of
conntrack entries in the conntrack table for every network namespace.
For the VMs and containers that reside in the same namespace,
they share the same conntrack table, and the total # of conntrack entries
for all the VMs and containers are limited by nf_conntrack_max. In this
case, if one of the VM/container abuses the usage the conntrack entries,
it blocks the others from committing valid conntrack entries into the
conntrack table. Even if we can possibly put the VM in different network
namespace, the current nf_conntrack_max configuration is kind of rigid
that we cannot limit different VM/container to have different # conntrack
entries.
To address the aforementioned issue, this patch proposes to have a
fine-grained mechanism that could further limit the # of conntrack entries
per-zone. For example, we can designate different zone to different VM,
and set conntrack limit to each zone. By providing this isolation, a
mis-behaved VM only consumes the conntrack entries in its own zone, and
it will not influence other well-behaved VMs. Moreover, the users can
set various conntrack limit to different zone based on their preference.
The proposed implementation utilizes Netfilter's nf_conncount backend
to count the number of connections in a particular zone. If the number of
connection is above a configured limitation, OVS will return ENOMEM to the
userspace. If userspace does not configure the zone limit, the limit
defaults to zero that is no limitation, which is backward compatible to
the behavior without this patch.
The first patch defines the conntrack limit netlink definition, and the
second patch provides the implementation.

mlx5e-updates-2018-05-19
This series contains updates for mlx5e netdevice driver with one subject,
DSCP to priority mapping, in the first patch Huy adds the needed API in
dcbnl, the second patch adds the needed mlx5 core capability bits for the
feature, and all other patches are mlx5e (netdev) only changes to add
support for the feature.
From: Huy Nguyen
Dscp to priority mapping for Ethernet packet:
These patches enable differentiated services code point (dscp) to
priority mapping for Ethernet packet. Once this feature is
enabled, the packet is routed to the corresponding priority based on its
dscp. User can combine this feature with priority flow control (pfc)
feature to have priority flow control based on the dscp.
Firmware interface:
Mellanox firmware provides two control knobs for this feature:
QPTS register allow changing the trust state between dscp and
pcp mode. The default is pcp mode. Once in dscp mode, firmware will
route the packet based on its dscp value if the dscp field exists.
QPDPM register allow mapping a specific dscp (0 to 63) to a
specific priority (0 to 7). By default, all the dscps are mapped to
priority zero.
Software interface:
This feature is controlled via application priority TLV. IEEE
specification P802.1Qcd/D2.1 defines priority selector id 5 for
application priority TLV. This APP TLV selector defines DSCP to priority
map. This APP TLV can be sent by the switch or can be set locally using
software such as lldptool. In mlx5 drivers, we add the support for net
dcb's getapp and setapp call back. Mlx5 driver only handles the selector
id 5 application entry (dscp application priority application entry).
If user sends multiple dscp to priority APP TLV entries on the same
dscp, the last sent one will take effect. All the previous sent will be
deleted.
This attribute combined with pfc attribute allows advanced user to
fine tune the qos setting for specific priority queue. For example,
user can give dedicated buffer for one or more priorities or user
can give large buffer to certain priorities.
The dcb buffer configuration will be controlled by lldptool.
>> lldptool -T -i eth2 -V BUFFER prio 0,2,5,7,1,2,3,6
maps priorities 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 to receive buffer 0,2,5,7,1,2,3,6
>> lldptool -T -i eth2 -V BUFFER size 87296,87296,0,87296,0,0,0,0
sets receive buffer size for buffer 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 respectively
After discussion on mailing list with Jakub, Jiri, Ido and John, we agreed to
choose dcbnl over devlink interface since this feature is intended to set
port attributes which are governed by the netdev instance of that port, where
devlink API is more suitable for global ASIC configurations.
The firmware trust state (in QPTS register) is changed based on the
number of dscp to priority application entries. When the first dscp to
priority application entry is added by the user, the trust state is
changed to dscp. When the last dscp to priority application entry is
deleted by the user, the trust state is changed to pcp.
When the port is in DSCP trust state, the transmit queue is selected
based on the dscp of the skb.
When the port is in DSCP trust state and vport inline mode is not NONE,
firmware requires mlx5 driver to copy the IP header to the
wqe ethernet segment inline header if the skb has it.
This is done by changing the transmit queue sq's min inline mode to L3.
Note that the min inline mode of sqs that belong to other features
such as xdpsq, icosq are not modified.

nfp: offload LAG for tc flower egress
This series from John adds bond offload to the nfp driver. Patch 5
exposes the hash type for NETDEV_LAG_TX_TYPE_HASH to make sure nfp
hashing matches that of the software LAG. This may be unnecessarily
conservative, let's see what LAG maintainers think :)
John says:
This patchset sets up the infrastructure and offloads output actions for
when a TC flower rule attempts to egress a packet to a LAG port.
Firstly it adds some of the infrastructure required to the flower app and
to the nfp core. This includes the ability to change the MAC address of a
repr, a function for combining lookup and write to a FW symbol, and the
addition of private data to a repr on a per app basis.
Patch 6 continues by implementing notifiers that track Linux bonds and
communicates to the FW those which enslave reprs, along with the current
state of reprs within the bond.
Patch 7 ensures bonds are synchronised with FW by receiving and acting
upon cmsgs sent to the kernel. These may request that a bond message is
retransmitted when FW can process it, or may request a full sync of the
bonds defined in the kernel.
Patch 8 offloads a flower action when that action requires egressing to a
pre-defined Linux bond.

ibmvnic: Failover hardening
Introduce additional transport event hardening to handle
events during device reset. In the driver's current state,
if a transport event is received during device reset, it can
cause the device to become unresponsive as invalid operations
are processed as the backing device context changes. After
a transport event, the device expects a request to begin the
initialization process. If the driver is still processing
a previously queued device reset in this state, it is likely
to fail as firmware will reject any commands other than the
one to initialize the client driver's Command-Response Queue.
Instead of failing and becoming dormant, the driver will make
one more attempt to recover and continue operation. This is
achieved by setting a state flag, which if true will direct
the driver to clean up all allocated resources and perform
a hard reset in an attempt to bring the driver back to an
operational state.

a few ip proto matches in followup patches.
v3 - Support ip_proto (only tcp and udp) match in getroute.
dropped printing of new match attrs in ip route get,
because ipv6 does not print it. And ipv6 currrently shares
the dump api with ipv6 notify and its better to not add them
to the notify api. dropped it to keep the api consistent between
ipv4 and ipv6 (though uid is already printed in the ipv4 case).
If we need it, both ipv4 and ipv6 can be enhanced to provide
a separate get api. Moved skb creation for ipv4 to a separate func.
v4 - drop separate skb for netlink and fix concerns around rcu and netlink
reply (as pointed out by DaveM). I now try to reset the skb after the route
lookup and before the netlink send (testing shows this is ok. More eyes and
any feedback here will be helpful)

bpfilter
v2->v3:
- followed Luis's suggestion and significantly simplied first patch
with shmem_kernel_file_setup+kernel_write. Added kdoc for new helper
- fixed typos and race to access pipes with mutex
- tested with bpfilter being 'builtin'. CONFIG_BPFILTER_UMH=y|m both work.
Interesting to see a usermode executable being embedded inside vmlinux.
- it doesn't hurt to enable bpfilter in .config.
ip_setsockopt commands sent to usermode via pipes and -ENOPROTOOPT is
returned from userspace, so kernel falls back to original iptables code
v1->v2:
this patch set is almost a full rewrite of the earlier umh modules approach
The v1 of patches and follow up discussion was covered by LWN:
https://lwn.net/Articles/749108/
I believe the v2 addresses all issues brought up by Andy and others.
Mainly there are zero changes to kernel/module.c
Instead of teaching module loading logic to recognize special
umh module, let normal kernel modules execute part of its own
.init.rodata as a new user space process (Andy's idea)
Patch 1 introduces this new helper:
int fork_usermode_blob(void *data, size_t len, struct umh_info *info);
Input:
data + len == executable file
Output:
struct umh_info {
struct file *pipe_to_umh;
struct file *pipe_from_umh;
pid_t pid;
};
Advantages vs v1:
- the embedded user mode executable is stored as .init.rodata inside
normal kernel module. These pages are freed when .ko finishes loading
- the elf file is copied into tmpfs file. The user mode process is swappable.
- the communication between user mode process and 'parent' kernel module
is done via two unix pipes, hence protocol is not exposed to
user space
- impossible to launch umh on its own (that was the main issue of v1)
and impossible to be man-in-the-middle due to pipes
- bpfilter.ko consists of tiny kernel part that passes the data
between kernel and umh via pipes and much bigger umh part that
doing all the work
- 'lsmod' shows bpfilter.ko as usual.
'rmmod bpfilter' removes kernel module and kills corresponding umh
- signed bpfilter.ko covers the whole image including umh code
Few issues:
- the user can still attach to the process and debug it with
'gdb /proc/pid/exe pid', but 'gdb -p pid' doesn't work.
(a bit worse comparing to v1)
- tinyconfig will notice a small increase in .text

net/ipv6: Fix route append and replace use cases
This patch set fixes a few append and replace uses cases for IPv6 and
adds test cases that codifies the expectations of how append and replace
are expected to work. In paricular it allows a multipath route to have
a dev-only nexthop, something Thomas tried to accomplish with commit
edd7ceb782 ("ipv6: Allow non-gateway ECMP for IPv6") which had to be
reverted because of breakage, and to replace an existing FIB entry
with a reject route.
There are a number of inconsistent and surprising aspects to the Linux
API for adding, deleting, replacing and changing FIB entries. For example,
with IPv4 NLM_F_APPEND means insert the route after any existing entries
with the same key (prefix + priority + TOS for IPv4) and NLM_F_CREATE
without the append flag inserts the new route before any existing entries.
IPv6 on the other hand attempts to guess whether a new route should be
appended to an existing one, possibly creating a multipath route, or to
add a new entry after any existing ones. This applies to both the 'append'
(NLM_F_CREATE + NLM_F_APPEND) and 'prepend' (NLM_F_CREATE only) cases
meaning for IPv6 the NLM_F_APPEND is basically ignored. This guessing
whether the route should be added to a multipath route (gateway routes)
or inserted after existing entries (non-gateway based routes) means a
multipath route can not have a dev only nexthop (potentially required in
some cases - tunnels or VRF route leaking for example) and route 'replace'
is a bit adhoc treating gateway based routes and dev-only / reject routes
differently.
This has led to frustration with developers working on routing suites
such as FRR where workarounds such as delete and add are used instead of
replace.
After this patch set there are 2 differences between IPv4 and IPv6:
1. 'ip ro prepend' = NLM_F_CREATE only
IPv4 adds the new route before any existing ones
IPv6 adds new route after any existing ones
2. 'ip ro append' = NLM_F_CREATE|NLM_F_APPEND
IPv4 adds the new route after any existing ones
IPv6 adds the nexthop to existing routes converting to multipath
For the former, there are cases where we want same prefix routes added
after existing ones (e.g., multicast, prefix routes for macvlan when used
for virtual router redundancy). Requiring the APPEND flag to add a new
route to an existing one helps here but is a slight change in behavior
since prepend with gateway routes now create a separate entry.
For the latter IPv6 behavior is preferred - appending a route for the same
prefix and metric to make a multipath route, so really IPv4 not allowing an
existing route to be updated is the limiter. This will be fixed when
nexthops become separate objects - a future patch set.
Thank you to Thomas and Ido for testing earlier versions of this set, and
to Ido for providing an update to the mlxsw driver.

devlink: introduce port flavours and common phys_port_name generation
This patchset resolves 2 issues we have right now:
1) There are many netdevices / ports in the system, for port, pf, vf
represenatation but the user has no way to see which is which
2) The ndo_get_phys_port_name is implemented in each driver separatelly,
which may lead to inconsistent names between drivers.
This patchset introduces port flavours which should address the first
problem. In this initial patchset, I focus on DSA and their port
flavours. As a follow-up, I plan to add PF and VF representor flavours.
However, that needs additional dependencies in drivers (nfp, mlx5).
The common phys_port_name generation is used by mlxsw. An example output
for mlxsw looks like this:
...
pci/0000:03:00.0/59: type eth netdev enp3s0np4 flavour physical number 4
pci/0000:03:00.0/61: type eth netdev enp3s0np1 flavour physical number 1

pci/0000:03:00.0/52: type eth netdev enp3s0np8s3 flavour physical number 8 split_group 8 subport 3
As you can see, the netdev names are generated according to the flavour
and port number. In case the port is split, the split subnumber is also
included.
An example output for dsa_loop testing module looks like this:
mdio_bus/fixed-0:1f/0: type eth netdev lan1 flavour physical number 0

mlx5e-updates-2018-05-17
From: Or Gerlitz <ogerlitz@mellanox.com>
This series addresses a regression introduced by the
shared block TC changes [1]. Currently, for VF->VF and uplink->VF rules, the
TC core (cls_api) attempts to offload the same flow multiple times into
the driver, as a side effect of the mlx5 registration to the egdev callback.
We use the flow cookie to ignore attempts to add such flows, we can't
reject them (return error), b/c this will fail the offload attempt, so we
ignore that.
The last patch of the series deals with exposing HW stats counters through
ethtool for the vport reps.
Dave - the regression that we are addressing was introduced in 4.15 [1] and applies
to nfp and mlx5. Jiri suggested to push driver side fixes to net-next, this is
already done for nfp [2][3]. Once this is upstream, we will submit a small/point
single patch fix for the TC core code which can serve for net and stable, but not
carried into net-next, b/c it might limit some future use-cases.

mlx5-updates-2018-05-17
mlx5 core dirver updates for both net-next and rdma-next branches.
From Christophe JAILLET, first three patche to use kvfree where needed.
From: Or Gerlitz <ogerlitz@mellanox.com>
Next six patches from Roi and Co adds support for merged
sriov e-switch which comes to serve cases where both PFs, VFs set
on them and both uplinks are to be used in single v-switch SW model.
When merged e-switch is supported, the per-port e-switch is logically
merged into one e-switch that spans both physical ports and all the VFs.
This model allows to offload TC eswitch rules between VFs belonging
to different PFs (and hence have different eswitch affinity), it also
sets the some of the foundations needed for uplink LAG support.

tcp: implement SACK compression
When TCP receives an out-of-order packet, it immediately sends
a SACK packet, generating network load but also forcing the
receiver to send 1-MSS pathological packets, increasing its
RTX queue length/depth, and thus processing time.
Wifi networks suffer from this aggressive behavior, but generally
speaking, all these SACK packets add fuel to the fire when networks
are under congestion.
This patch series adds SACK compression, but the infrastructure
could be leveraged to also compress ACK in the future.
v2: Addressed Neal feedback.
Added two sysctls to allow fine tuning, or even disabling the feature.
v3: take rtt = min(srtt, rcv_rtt) as Yuchung suggested, because rcv_rtt
can be over estimated for RPC (or sender limited)

net: stmmac: Clean-up and tune-up
This targets to uniformize the handling of the different GMAC versions in
stmmac_main.c file and also tune-up the HW.
Currently there are some if/else conditions in the main source file which
calls different callbacks depending on the ID of GMAC.
With the introducion of a generic HW interface handling which automatically
selects the GMAC callbacks to be used, it is now unpleasant to see if
conditions in the main code because this should be completely agnostic of the
GMAC version.
This series removes most of these conditions. There are some if conditions
that remain untouched but the callbacks handling are now uniformized.
Tested in GMAC5, hope I didn't break any previous versions.
Please check [1] for performance analisys of patches 3-12.

pull-request: bpf 2018-05-18
The following pull-request contains BPF updates for your *net* tree.
The main changes are:
1) Fix two bugs in sockmap, a use after free in sockmap's error path
from sock_map_ctx_update_elem() where we mistakenly drop a reference
we didn't take prior to that, and in the same function fix a race
in bpf_prog_inc_not_zero() where we didn't use the progs from prior
READ_ONCE(), from John.
2) Reject program expansions once we figure out that their jump target
which crosses patchlet boundaries could otherwise get truncated in
insn->off space, from Daniel.
3) Check the return value of fopen() in BPF selftest's test_verifier
where we determine whether unpriv BPF is disabled, and iff we do
fail there then just assume it is disabled. This fixes a segfault
when used with older kernels, from Jesper.

net: Allow more drivers with COMPILE_TEST
This patch series includes more drivers to be build tested with COMPILE_TEST
enabled. This helps cover some of the issues I just ran into with missing
a driver *sigh*.
Chanves in v3:
- drop the TI Keystone NETCP driver from the COMPILE_TEST additions
Changes in v2:
- allow FEC to build outside of CONFIG_ARM/ARM64 by defining a layout of
registers, this is not meant to run, so this is not a real issue if we
are not matching the correct register layout

10GbE Intel Wired LAN Driver Updates 2018-05-17
This series contains updates to ixgbe, ixgbevf and ice drivers.
Cathy Zhou resolves sparse warnings by using the force attribute.
Mauro S M Rodrigues fixes a bug where IRQs were not freed if a PCI error
recovery system opts to remove the device which causes
ixgbe_io_error_detected() to return PCI_ERS_RESULT_DISCONNECT before
calling ixgbe_close_suspend() which results in IRQs not freed and
crashing when the remove handler calls pci_disable_device(). Resolved
this by calling ixgbe_close_suspend() before evaluating the PCI channel
state.
Pavel Tatashin releases the rtnl_lock during the call to
ixgbe_close_suspend() to allow scaling if device_shutdown() is
multi-threaded.
Emil modifies ixgbe to not validate the MAC address during a reset,
unless the MAC was set on the host so that the VF will get a new MAC
address every time it reloads. Also updates ixgbevf to set
hw->mac.perm_addr in order to retain the custom MAC on a reset.
Anirudh updates the ice NVM read/erase/update AQ commands to align with
the latest specification.
