Necessary to hold a consistent style and catch regressions automatically. RuboCop runs against a grandfathered todo so existing offences can be retired gradually, and a CI workflow exercises the spec suite and Docker build on every push. A companion workflow publishes releases when the version is bumped, replacing the standalone Docker Hub job.
