053db696b3 Allow programs/fuzz to be linked against pthread 
Use the same mechanisms used to link other programs against pthread with
make, i.e. include common.make, and remove common code from programs/
fuzz/Makefile

4068c7e47c Link programs with pthread via cmake 
All programs are now linked directly with all test code, thus adding a
pthread abstraction into the test code means having to link the programs
with pthread (if the library is found under cmake).

9ec14f6dcb programs/fuzz: set sensible default CFLAGS 
Running make from programs/fuzz didn't set any optimization flags (running
make from programs or from the root inherited the parent's optimization
flags). Default to -O2.

There were no -W flags. Default to -Wall -Wextra, but not -Werror in line
with the other makefiles.

a70d588f74 Add initial test driver conforming to the new spec 
Also adjusted the different makefiles accordingly.
Note: driver lifetime is currently statically defined in the header, but
this will be replaced in the future based on autogeneration of lifetime
values by a script (TBD)
