GitHub Actions Workflow Fixes
This document summarizes the fixes applied to resolve GitHub Actions workflow failures.
Issues Fixed
1. Missing Checkout Step in clone-issues.yml
Problem: The clone-issues.yml workflow was failing because it didn't have a checkout step, causing the GITHUB_REPOSITORY environment variable to be unavailable.
Fix: Added actions/checkout@v4 as the first step in the workflow.
2. Outdated GitHub Actions Versions
Problem: Multiple workflows were using outdated versions of GitHub Actions (v3, v5, v6) which could cause compatibility issues.
Fix: Updated all actions to their latest stable versions:
actions/checkout@v3→actions/checkout@v4actions/setup-python@v4→actions/setup-python@v5actions/setup-java@v3→actions/setup-java@v4actions/cache@v3→actions/cache@v4actions/upload-artifact@v3→actions/upload-artifact@v4actions/download-artifact@v3→actions/download-artifact@v4actions/github-script@v5/v6→actions/github-script@v7
3. Insufficient Permissions in codespell.yml
Problem: The codespell workflow had empty permissions (permissions: {}), which could prevent proper repository access.
Fix: Added appropriate permissions:
permissions:
contents: read
pull-requests: read
4. Typo in android-mainline-play-release.yml
Problem: Variable name typo releast-tag instead of release-tag.
Fix: Corrected the variable name.
5. Improved Error Handling and Logging
Added: Better validation and logging in the Forgejo issue sync scripts to help with debugging.
