The error message in the daemon() failure path uses %p format specifier
without providing a corresponding pointer argument, resulting in undefined
behavior and printing garbage values.
Replace %p with %m to properly print the errno error message, which is
the intended behavior when daemon() fails.
This fix ensures proper error reporting when daemonization fails.

In the previous code, the 'mds' and 'nrhandler' variables were not
utilized in the codebase. Additionally, there was a potential NULL
pointer dereference and memory leak due to improper handling of memory
reallocation failure.
This patch removes the unused 'mds' and 'nrhandler' variables along with
the associated code, addressing the unused variable issue, NULL pointer
dereference issue and the memory leak issue.

This change provides a simple daemon skeleton. It is an example of how
to use the thermal library which wraps all the complex code related to
the netlink and transforms it into a callback oriented code.
The goal of this skeleton is to give a base brick for anyone
interested in writing its own thermal engine or as an example to rely
on to write its own thermal monitoring implementation.
In the future, it will evolve with more features and hopefully more
logic.

Since commit 57fd251c78 ("kbuild: split cc-option and friends to
scripts/Makefile.compiler"), some kselftests fail to build.
The tools/ directory opted out Kbuild, and went in a different
direction. People copied scripts and Makefiles to the tools/ directory
to create their own build system.
tools/build/Build.include mimics scripts/Kbuild.include, but some
tool Makefiles include the Kbuild one to import a feature that is
missing in tools/build/Build.include:
- Commit ec04aa3ae8 ("tools/thermal: tmon: use "-fstack-protector"
only if supported") included scripts/Kbuild.include from
tools/thermal/tmon/Makefile to import the cc-option macro.
- Commit c2390f16fc ("selftests: kvm: fix for compilers that do
not support -no-pie") included scripts/Kbuild.include from
tools/testing/selftests/kvm/Makefile to import the try-run macro.
- Commit 9cae4ace80 ("selftests/bpf: do not ignore clang
failures") included scripts/Kbuild.include from
tools/testing/selftests/bpf/Makefile to import the .DELETE_ON_ERROR
target.
- Commit 0695f8bca9 ("selftests/powerpc: Handle Makefile for
unrecognized option") included scripts/Kbuild.include from
tools/testing/selftests/powerpc/pmu/ebb/Makefile to import the
try-run macro.
Copy what they need into tools/build/Build.include, and make them
include it instead of scripts/Kbuild.include.

Fixes a segfault occurring when e.g. <TAB> is pressed multiple times in the
ncurses tmon application. The segfault is caused by incrementing
cur_thermal_record in the main function without checking if it's value reached
NR_THERMAL_RECORD immediately. Since the boundary check only occurred in
update_thermal_data a race condition existed, which lead to an attempted read
beyond the last element of the trec array.
The fix was implemented by moving the cur_thermal_record incrementation to the
update_thermal_data function using a temporary variable on which the boundary
condition is checked before updating cur_thread_record, so that the variable is
never incremented beyond the trec array's boundary.
It seems the segfault does not occur on every machine: On a HP EliteBook G4 the
segfault happens, while it does not happen on a Thinkpad T540p.
