Eric Biggers 645e64136b sample/tsm-mr: Use SHA-2 library APIs
Given that tsm_mr_sample has a particular set of algorithms that it
wants, just use the library APIs for those algorithms rather than
crypto_shash. This is more straightforward and more efficient.

This also fixes a bug where this module failed to build if it was
enabled without CRYPTO_HASH happening to be set elsewhere in the
kconfig. (With the concurrent change to make TSM_MEASUREMENTS stop
selecting CRYPTO, this existing build error would have become easier to
encounter, as well.) Also, even if it built, crypto_alloc_shash() could
fail at runtime due to the needed algorithms not being available.

The library functions simply use direct linking. So if it builds, which
it will due to the kconfig options being selected, they are available.

Zi LiandAndrew Morton 4efec6c091 samples: enhance hung_task detector test with read-write semaphore support
Extend the hung_task detector test module to include read-write semaphore
support alongside existing mutex and semaphore tests. This module now
creates additional debugfs files under <debugfs>/hung_task, namely
'rw_semaphore_read' and 'rw_semaphore_write', in addition to 'mutex' and
'semaphore'. Reading these files with multiple processes triggers a
prolonged sleep (256 seconds) while holding the respective lock, enabling
hung_task detector testing for various locking mechanisms.

This change builds on the extensible hung_task_tests module, adding
read-write semaphore functionality to improve test coverage for kernel
locking primitives. The implementation ensures proper lock handling and
includes checks to prevent redundant data reads.

Usage is:

        > cd /sys/kernel/debug/hung_task
        > cat mutex & cat mutex # Test mutex blocking
        > cat semaphore & cat semaphore # Test semaphore blocking
        > cat rw_semaphore_write \
            & cat rw_semaphore_read # Test rwsem blocking
        > cat rw_semaphore_write \
            & cat rw_semaphore_write # Test rwsem blocking

Update the Kconfig description to reflect the addition of read-write
semaphore debugfs files.

Zi LiandAndrew Morton 1abf729e9d samples: extend hung_task detector test with semaphore support
Extend the existing hung_task detector test module to support multiple
lock types, including mutex and semaphore, with room for future additions
(e.g., spinlock, etc.). This module creates dummy files under
<debugfs>/hung_task, such as 'mutex' and 'semaphore'. The read process on
any of these files will sleep for enough long time (256 seconds) while
holding the respective lock. As a result, the second process will wait on
the lock for a prolonged duration and be detected by the hung_task
detector.

This change unifies the previous mutex-only sample into a single,
extensible hung_task_tests module, reducing code duplication and improving
maintainability.

Usage is:

	> cd /sys/kernel/debug/hung_task
	> cat mutex & cat mutex # Test mutex blocking
	> cat semaphore & cat semaphore # Test semaphore blocking

Update the Kconfig description to reflect multiple debugfs files support.

Cedric XingandDan Williams f6953f1f9e tsm-mr: Add tsm-mr sample code
This sample kernel module demonstrates how to make MRs accessible to user
mode through the tsm-mr library.

Once loaded, this module registers a `miscdevice` that host a set of
emulated measurement registers as shown in the directory tree below.

/sys/class/misc/tsm_mr_sample
└── measurements
    ├── config_mr
    ├── report_digest:sha512
    ├── rtmr0:sha256
    ├── rtmr1:sha384
    ├── rtmr_crypto_agile:sha256
    ├── rtmr_crypto_agile:sha384
    └── static_mr:sha384

Among the MRs in this example:

- `config_mr` demonstrates a hashless MR, like MRCONFIGID in Intel TDX or
  HOSTDATA in AMD SEV.
- `static_mr` demonstrates a static MR. The suffix `:sha384` indicates its
  value is a sha384 digest.
- `rtmr0` is an RTMR with `TSM_MR_F_WRITABLE` **cleared**, preventing
direct extensions; as a result, the attribute `rtmr0:sha256` is
  read-only.
- `rtmr1` is an RTMR with `TSM_MR_F_WRITABLE` **set**, permitting direct
extensions; thus, the attribute `rtmr1:sha384` is writable.
- `rtmr_crypto_agile` demonstrates a "single" MR that supports multiple
hash algorithms. Each supported algorithm has a corresponding digest,
usually referred to as a "bank" in TCG terminology. In this specific
sample, the 2 banks are aliased to `rtmr0` and `rtmr1`, respectively.
- `report_digest` contains the digest of the internal report structure
living in this sample module's memory. It is to demonstrate the use of
the `TSM_MR_F_LIVE` flag. Its value changes each time an RTMR is
  extended.

SeongJae ParkandAndrew Morton 19d7c3adfd samples: add a skeleton of a sample DAMON module for working set size estimation
Patch series "mm/damon: add sample modules".

Implement a proactive cold memory regions reclaiming logic of prcl sample
module using DAMOS. The logic treats memory regions that not accessed at
all for five or more seconds as cold, and reclaim those as soon as found.

This patch (of 5):

Add a skeleton for a sample DAMON static module that can be used for
estimating working set size of a given process. Note that it is a static
module since DAMON is not exporting symbols to loadable modules for now.
It exposes two module parameters, namely 'pid' and 'enable'. 'pid' will
specify the process that the module will estimate the working set size of.
'enable' will receive whether to start or stop the estimation. Because
this is just a skeleton, the parameters do nothing, though. The
functionalities will be implemented by following commits.

Patch series "samples: introduce cgroup events listeners", v3.

To begin with, this patch series relocates the cgroup example code to the
samples/cgroup directory, which is the appropriate location for such code
snippets.

Furthermore, a new memcg events listener is introduced. This listener is
a simple yet effective tool for monitoring memory events and managing
counter changes during runtime.

Additionally, as per Andrew Morton's suggestion, a helpful reminder
comment is included in the memcontrol implementation. This comment serves
to ensure that the samples code is updated whenever new events are added.

This patch (of 3):

Move the cgroup_event_listener for cgroup v1 to the samples directory.
This suggestion was proposed by Andrew Morton during the discussion [1].

   Raghav.

 - zsmalloc performance improvements from Sergey Senozhatsky.

 - Yue Zhao has found and fixed some data race issues around the
   alteration of memcg userspace tunables.

     - removal of most of the callers of write_one_page()
     - make __filemap_get_folio()'s return value more useful

 - Luis Chamberlain has changed tmpfs so it no longer requires swap
   backing. Use `mount -o noswap'.

 - Qi Zheng has made the slab shrinkers operate locklessly, providing
   some scalability benefits.

 - Keith Busch has improved dmapool's performance, making part of its
   operations O(1) rather than O(n).

permitting userspace to wr-protect anon memory unpopulated ptes.

 - Kirill Shutemov has changed MAX_ORDER's meaning to be inclusive
rather than exclusive, and has fixed a bunch of errors which were
   caused by its unintuitive meaning.

 - Axel Rasmussen give userfaultfd the UFFDIO_CONTINUE_MODE_WP feature,

DRM, but DRM doesn't use it any more.

 - Lorenzo has also coverted read_kcore() and vread() to use iterators
and has thereby removed the use of bounce buffers in some cases.

 - Lorenzo has also contributed further cleanups of vma_merge().

 - Chaitanya Prakash provides some fixes to the mmap selftesting code.

kmemleak-test.c was moved to the samples directory in 1abbef4f51
("mm,kmemleak-test.c: move kmemleak-test.c to samples dir").

If CONFIG_DEBUG_KMEMLEAK_TEST=m and CONFIG_SAMPLES is unset,
kmemleak-test.c will be unnecessarily compiled.

So move the entry for CONFIG_DEBUG_KMEMLEAK_TEST from mm/Kconfig and add a
new CONFIG_SAMPLE_KMEMLEAK in samples/ to control whether kmemleak-test.c
is built or not.

Mark RutlandandSteven Rostedt (Google) b56c68f705 ftrace: Add sample with custom ops
When reworking core ftrace code or architectural ftrace code, it's often
necessary to test/analyse/benchmark a number of ftrace_ops

architectures aren't adversely affected.

For example, in a QEMU+KVM VM running on a 2GHz Xeon E5-2660
