Linus Torvalds bf4afc53b7 Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argument
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using

    git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
        xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'

to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

Kees Cook 69050f8d6d treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar types
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

Alexander PotapenkoandAndrew Morton 79ffad20eb mm: kmsan: add tests for high-order page freeing
Add regression tests to verify that KMSAN correctly poisons the full
memory range when freeing pages.

Specifically, verify that accessing the tail pages of a high-order
non-compound allocation triggers a use-after-free report.  This ensures
that the fix "mm: kmsan: Fix poisoning of high-order non-compound pages"
is working as expected.

Also add a test for standard order-0 pages for completeness.

We were wasting a byte due to an off-by-one bug.  s[c]nprintf() doesn't
write more than $2 bytes including the null byte, so trying to pass

Ryan RobertsandAndrew Morton 4795d205d7 mm: kmsan: fix poisoning of high-order non-compound pages
kmsan_free_page() is called by the page allocator's free_pages_prepare()
during page freeing.  Its job is to poison all the memory covered by the
page.  It can be called with an order-0 page, a compound high-order page
or a non-compound high-order page.  But page_size() only works for order-0
and compound pages.  For a non-compound high-order page it will
incorrectly return PAGE_SIZE.

The implication is that the tail pages of a high-order non-compound page
do not get poisoned at free, so any invalid access while they are free
could go unnoticed.  It looks like the pages will be poisoned again at
allocation time, so that would bookend the window.

Fix this by using the order parameter to calculate the size.

Uladzislau Rezki (Sony)andAndrew Morton b186a94227 kmsan: remove hard-coded GFP_KERNEL flags
kmsan_vmap_pages_range_noflush() allocates its temp s_pages/o_pages arrays
with GFP_KERNEL, which may sleep.  This is inconsistent with vmalloc() as
it will support non-blocking requests later.

Plumb gfp_mask through the kmsan_vmap_pages_range_noflush(), so it can use
it internally for its demand.

Please note, the subsequent __vmap_pages_range_noflush() still uses
GFP_KERNEL and can sleep.  If a caller runs under reclaim constraints,
sleeping is forbidden, it must establish the appropriate memalloc scope
API.

Aleksei NikiforovandAndrew Morton 7e76b75e5a mm/kmsan: fix kmsan kmalloc hook when no stack depots are allocated yet
If no stack depot is allocated yet, due to masking out __GFP_RECLAIM flags
kmsan called from kmalloc cannot allocate stack depot.  kmsan fails to
record origin and report issues.  This may result in KMSAN failing to
report issues.

Reusing flags from kmalloc without modifying them should be safe for kmsan.
For example, such chain of calls is possible:
test_uninit_kmalloc -> kmalloc -> __kmalloc_cache_noprof ->
slab_alloc_node -> slab_post_alloc_hook ->
kmsan_slab_alloc -> kmsan_internal_poison_memory.

Only when it is called in a context without flags present should
__GFP_RECLAIM flags be masked.

With this change all kmsan tests start working reliably.

Eric reported:

: Yes, KMSAN seems to be at least partially broken currently.  Besides the

This occurs when memset() is called on a buffer that is not 4-byte aligned
and extends to the end of a guard page, i.e.  the next page is unmapped.

The bug is that the loop at the end of kmsan_internal_set_shadow_origin()
accesses the wrong shadow memory bytes when the address is not 4-byte
aligned.  Since each 4 bytes are associated with an origin, it rounds the
address and size so that it can access all the origins that contain the
buffer.  However, when it checks the corresponding shadow bytes for a
particular origin, it incorrectly uses the original unrounded shadow
address.  This results in reads from shadow memory beyond the end of the
buffer's shadow memory, which crashes when that memory is not mapped.

To fix this, correctly align the shadow address before accessing the 4
shadow bytes corresponding to each origin.

Leon RomanovskyandMarek Szyprowski 6eb1e769b2 kmsan: convert kmsan_handle_dma to use physical addresses
Convert the KMSAN DMA handling function from page-based to physical
address-based interface.

The refactoring renames kmsan_handle_dma() parameters from accepting
(struct page *page, size_t offset, size_t size) to (phys_addr_t phys,
size_t size). The existing semantics where callers are expected to
provide only kmap memory is continued here.

Alexander PotapenkoandAndrew Morton e17c1f15b0 kmsan: enter the runtime around kmsan_internal_memmove_metadata() call
kmsan_internal_memmove_metadata() transitively calls stack_depot_save()
(via kmsan_internal_chain_origin() and kmsan_save_stack_with_flags()),
which may allocate memory.  Guard it with kmsan_enter_runtime() and
kmsan_leave_runtime() to avoid recursion.

This bug was spotted by CONFIG_WARN_CAPABILITY_ANALYSIS=y

Before SLUB initialization, various subsystems used memblock_alloc to
allocate memory.  In most cases, when memory allocation fails, an
immediate panic is required.  To simplify this behavior and reduce
repetitive checks, introduce `memblock_alloc_or_panic`.  This function
ensures that memory allocation failures result in a panic automatically,
improving code readability and consistency across subsystems that require
this behavior.

Sabyrzhan TasbolatovandAndrew Morton e4137f0881 mm, kasan, kmsan: instrument copy_from/to_kernel_nofault
Instrument copy_from_kernel_nofault() with KMSAN for uninitialized kernel
memory check and copy_to_kernel_nofault() with KASAN, KCSAN to detect the
memory corruption.

syzbot reported that bpf_probe_read_kernel() kernel helper triggered KASAN
report via kasan_check_range() which is not the expected behaviour as
copy_from_kernel_nofault() is meant to be a non-faulting helper.

Solution is, suggested by Marco Elver, to replace KASAN, KCSAN check in
copy_from_kernel_nofault() with KMSAN detection of copying uninitilaized
kernel memory.  In copy_to_kernel_nofault() we can retain
instrument_write() explicitly for the memory corruption instrumentation.

copy_to_kernel_nofault() is tested on x86_64 and arm64 with
CONFIG_KASAN_SW_TAGS.  On arm64 with CONFIG_KASAN_HW_TAGS, kunit test
currently fails.  Need more clarification on it.
