Linus Torvalds bf4afc53b7 Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argument
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using

    git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
        xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'

to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

Kees Cook 69050f8d6d treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar types
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

Dan CarpenterandAndrew Morton 8f45f08933 ocfs2: fix double free in user_cluster_connect()
user_cluster_disconnect() frees "conn->cc_private" which is "lc" but then
the error handling frees "lc" a second time.  Set "lc" to NULL on this
path to avoid a double free.

Christophe JAILLETandAndrew Morton 03bf0044e1 ocfs2: constify struct ocfs2_stack_operations
"struct ocfs2_stack_operations" are not modified in this driver.

Constifying this structure moves some data to a read-only section, so
increase overall security.

In order to do it, "struct ocfs2_stack_plugin" also needs to be adjusted
to this new const qualifier.

Jeff LaytonandChristian Brauner a69ce85ec9 filelock: split common fields into struct file_lock_core
In a future patch, we're going to split file leases into their own
structure. Since a lot of the underlying machinery uses the same fields
move those into a new file_lock_core, and embed that inside struct
file_lock.

For now, add some macros to ensure that we can continue to build while
the conversion is in progress.

Alexander AringandDavid Teigland dc52cd2eff fs: dlm: fix F_CANCELLK to cancel pending request
This patch fixes the current handling of F_CANCELLK by not just doing a
unlock as we need to try to cancel a lock at first. A unlock makes sense
on a non-blocking lock request but if it's a blocking lock request we
need to cancel the request until it's not granted yet. This patch is fixing
this behaviour by first try to cancel a lock request and if it's failed
it's unlocking the lock which seems to be granted.

Note: currently the nfs locking handling was disabled by commit
40595cdc93 ("nfs: block notification on fs with its own ->lock").
However DLM was never being updated regarding to this change. Future
patches will try to fix lockd lock requests for DLM. This patch is
currently assuming the upstream DLM lockd handling is correct.

Jeff Layton 5970e15dbc filelock: move file locking definitions to separate header file
The file locking definitions have lived in fs.h since the dawn of time,
but they are only used by a small subset of the source files that
include it.

Move the file locking definitions to a new header file, and add the
appropriate #include directives to the source files that need them. By
doing this we trim down fs.h a bit and limit the amount of rebuilding
that has to be done when we make changes to the file locking APIs.

Alexander AringandDavid Teigland 12cda13cfd fs: dlm: remove DLM_LSFL_FS from uapi
The DLM_LSFL_FS flag is set in lockspaces created directly
for a kernel user, as opposed to those lockspaces created
for user space applications.  The user space libdlm allowed
this flag to be set for lockspaces created from user space,
but then used by a kernel user.  No kernel user has ever
used this method, so remove the ability to do it.

Masahiro YamadaandLinus Torvalds fa60ce2cb4 treewide: remove editor modelines and cruft
The section "19) Editor modelines and other cruft" in
Documentation/process/coding-style.rst clearly says, "Do not include any
of these in source files."

I recently receive a patch to explicitly add a new one.

Let's do treewide cleanups, otherwise some people follow the existing code
and attempt to upstream their favoriate editor setups.

It is even nicer if scripts/checkpatch.pl can check it.

If we like to impose coding style in an editor-independent manner, I think
editorconfig (patch [1]) is a saner solution.

Gang HeandLinus Torvalds 01a36b6758 ocfs2: ensure that dlm lockspace is created by kernel module
We encountered a bug from the customer, the user did a fsck.ocfs2 on the
file system and exited unusually, the lockspace (with LVB size = 32) was
left in the kernel space, next, the user mounted this file system, the
kernel module did not create a new lockspace (LVB size = 64) via calling
dlm_new_lockspace() function in mounting stage, just used the existing
lockspace, created by the user space tool, this would lead the user was
not able to mount this file system from the other nodes, with the error
message like:

The user found it very difficult to find the root cause, then, we
brought out this patch to relieve such problem.

First, we add one more flag in calling dlm_new_lockspace() function, to
make sure the lockspace is created by kernel module itself, and this
change will not affect the backward compatibility.

Second, the obvious error message is reported in the kernel log, let the
user be more easy to find the root cause.

This patch will be used to insure the dlm lockspace is created by kernel
module when mounting a ocfs2 file system.  There are two ways to create
a lockspace, from user space and kernel space, but the same name
lockspaces probably have different lvblen lengths/flags.

To avoid this mix using, we add one more flag DLM_LSFL_NEWEXCL, it will
make sure the dlm lockspace is created by kernel module when mounting.
Secondly, if a user space program (ocfs2-tools) is running on a file
system, the user tries to mount this file system in the cluster, DLM
module will return a -EEXIST or -EPROTO errno, we should give the user a
obvious error message, then, the user can let that user space tool exit
before mounting the file system again.

Greg Kroah-Hartman f368ed6088 char: make misc_deregister a void function
With well over 200+ users of this api, there are a mere 12 users that
actually checked the return value of this function.  And all of them
really didn't do anything with that information as the system or module
was shutting down no matter what.

So stop pretending like it matters, and just return void from
misc_deregister().  If something goes wrong in the call, you will get a
WARNING splat in the syslog so you know how to fix up your driver.
Other than that, there's nothing that can go wrong.

traditional ocfs2_controld.

To exchange ocfs2 versioning, we use the LVB of the version dlm lock.
It first attempts to take the lock in EX mode (non-blocking).  If
successful (which means it is the first mount), it writes the version
number and downconverts to PR lock.  If it is unsuccessful, it reads the
version from the lock.

If this becomes the standard (with o2cb as well), it could simplify
userspace tools to check if the filesystem is mounted on other nodes.

Dan: Since ocfs2_protocol_version are two u8 values, the additional
checks with LONG* don't make sense.
