- fuse_mutex is not needed for device cloning, because fuse_dev_install()
uses cmpxcg() to set fud->fc, which prevents races between clone/mount
or clone/clone. This makes the logic simpler
- Drop fc->dev_count. This is only used to check in release if the device
is the last clone, but checking list_empty(&fc->devices) is equivalent
after removing the released device from the list. Removing the fuse_dev
before calling fuse_abort_conn() is okay, since the processing and io
lists are now empty for this device.

This will make it possible to grab the fuse_dev and subsequently release
the file that it came from.
In the above case, fud->fc will be set to FUSE_DEV_FC_DISCONNECTED to
indicate that this is no longer a functional device.
When trying to assign an fc to such a disconnected fuse_dev, the fc is set
to the disconnected state.
Use atomic operations xchg() and cmpxchg() to prevent races.

Allocate struct fuse_dev when opening the device. This means that unlike
before, ->private_data is always set to a valid pointer.
The use of USE_DEV_SYNC_INIT magic pointer for the private_data is now
replaced with a simple bool sync_init member.
If sync INIT is not set, I/O on the device returns error before mount.
Keep this behavior by checking for the ->fc member. If fud->fc is set, the
mount has succeeded. Testing this used READ_ONCE(file->private_data) and
smp_mb() to try and provide the necessary semantics. Switch this to
smp_store_release() and smp_load_acquire().
Setting fud->fc is protected by fuse_mutex, this is unchanged.
Will need this later so the /dev/fuse open file reference is not held
during FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE.

Use fuse_get_dev() not __fuse_get_dev() on the old fd, since in the case of
synchronous INIT the caller will want to wait for the device file to be
available for cloning, just like I/O wants to wait instead of returning an
error.

When sync init is used and the server exits for some reason (error, crash)
while processing FUSE_INIT, the filesystem creation will hang. The reason
is that while all other threads will exit, the mounting thread (or process)
will keep the device fd open, which will prevent an abort from happening.
This is a regression from the async mount case, where the mount was done
first, and the FUSE_INIT processing afterwards, in which case there's no
such recursive syscall keeping the fd open.

Simplify the folio parsing logic in fuse_notify_store() and
fuse_retrieve().
In particular, calculate the index by tracking pos, which allows us to
remove calculating nr_pages, and use "pos" in place of outarg's offset
field.

Add validation checking for outarg offset and outarg size values passed
in by the server. MAX_LFS_FILESIZE is the maximum file size supported.
The fuse_notify_store_out and fuse_notify_retrieve_out structs take in
a uint64_t offset.
Add logic to ensure:
* outarg.offset is less than MAX_LFS_FILESIZE
* outarg.offset + outarg.size cannot exceed MAX_LFS_FILESIZE
* potential uint64_t overflow is fixed when adding outarg.offset and
outarg.size.

xfstest generic/074 and generic/075 complain result in kernel
warning messages / page dumps.
This is easily reproducible (on 6.19) with
CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE_SHMEM_HUGE_ALWAYS=y
CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE_TMPFS_HUGE_ALWAYS=y
This just adds a test for large folios fuse_try_move_folio
with the same page copy fallback, but to avoid the warnings
from fuse_check_folio().

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

min_t(unsigned int, a, b) casts an 'unsigned long' to 'unsigned int'.
Use min(a, b) instead as it promotes any 'unsigned int' to 'unsigned long'
and so cannot discard significant bits.
A couple of places need umin() because of loops like:
nfolios = DIV_ROUND_UP(ret + start, PAGE_SIZE);
for (i = 0; i < nfolios; i++) {
struct folio *folio = page_folio(pages[i]);
...
unsigned int len = umin(ret, PAGE_SIZE - start);
...
ret -= len;
...
}
where the compiler doesn't track things well enough to know that
'ret' is never negative.
The alternate loop:
for (i = 0; ret > 0; i++) {
struct folio *folio = page_folio(pages[i]);
...
unsigned int len = min(ret, PAGE_SIZE - start);
...
ret -= len;
...
}
would be equivalent and doesn't need 'nfolios'.
Most of the 'unsigned long' actually come from PAGE_SIZE.

With the infrastructure introduced to periodically invalidate expired
dentries, it is now possible to add an extra work queue to invalidate
dentries when an epoch is incremented. This work queue will only be
triggered when the 'inval_wq' parameter is set.

Pull vfs workqueue updates from Christian Brauner:
"This contains various workqueue changes affecting the filesystem
layer.
Currently if a user enqueue a work item using schedule_delayed_work()
the used wq is "system_wq" (per-cpu wq) while queue_delayed_work() use
WORK_CPU_UNBOUND (used when a cpu is not specified). The same applies
to schedule_work() that is using system_wq and queue_work(), that
makes use again of WORK_CPU_UNBOUND.
This replaces the use of system_wq and system_unbound_wq. system_wq is
a per-CPU workqueue which isn't very obvious from the name and
system_unbound_wq is to be used when locality is not required.
So this renames system_wq to system_percpu_wq, and system_unbound_wq
to system_dfl_wq.
This also adds a new WQ_PERCPU flag to allow the fs subsystem users to
explicitly request the use of per-CPU behavior. Both WQ_UNBOUND and
WQ_PERCPU flags coexist for one release cycle to allow callers to
transition their calls. WQ_UNBOUND will be removed in a next release
cycle"

The fuse_request_{send,end} tracepoints capture the value of
req->in.h.unique in the trace output. It would be really nice if we
could use this to match a request to its response for debugging and
latency analysis, but the call to trace_fuse_request_send occurs before
the unique id has been set:
fuse_request_send: connection 8388608 req 0 opcode 1 (FUSE_LOOKUP) len 107
fuse_request_end: connection 8388608 req 6 len 16 error -2
(Notice that req moves from 0 to 6)
Move the callsites to trace_fuse_request_send to after the unique id has
been set by introducing a helper to do that for standard fuse_req
requests. FUSE_FORGET requests are not covered by this because they
appear to be synthesized into the event stream without a fuse_req
object and are never replied to.
Requests that are aborted without ever having been submitted to the fuse
server retain the behavior that only the fuse_request_end tracepoint
shows up in the trace record, and with req==0.

This lack of consistentcy cannot be addressed without refactoring the API.
system_wq is a per-CPU worqueue, yet nothing in its name tells about that
CPU affinity constraint, which is very often not required by users.
Make it clear by adding a system_percpu_wq to all the fs subsystem.
The old wq will be kept for a few release cylces.

Patch series "Add and use memdesc_flags_t".
At some point struct page will be separated from struct slab and struct
folio. This is a step towards that by introducing a type for the 'flags'
word of all three structures. This gives us a certain amount of type
safety by establishing that some of these unsigned longs are different
from other unsigned longs in that they contain things like node ID,
section number and zone number in the upper bits. That lets us have
functions that can be easily called by anyone who has a slab, folio or
page (but not easily by anyone else) to get the node or zone.
There's going to be some unusual merge problems with this as some odd bits
of the kernel decide they want to print out the flags value or something
similar by writing page->flags and now they'll need to write page->flags.f
instead. That's most of the churn here. Maybe we should be removing
these things from the debug output?
This patch (of 11):
Wrap the unsigned long flags in a typedef. In upcoming patches, this will
provide a strong hint that you can't just pass a random unsigned long to
functions which take this as an argument.

Some fuse servers need to prune their caches, which can only be done if the
kernel's own dentry/inode caches are pruned first to avoid dangling
references.
Add FUSE_NOTIFY_PRUNE, which takes an array of node ID's to try and get rid
of. Inodes with active references are skipped.
A similar functionality is already provided by FUSE_NOTIFY_INVAL_ENTRY with
the FUSE_EXPIRE_ONLY flag. Differences in the interface are
FUSE_NOTIFY_INVAL_ENTRY:
- can only prune one dentry
- dentry is determined by parent ID and name
- if inode has multiple aliases (cached hard links), then they would have
to be invalidated individually to be able to get rid of the inode
FUSE_NOTIFY_PRUNE:
- can prune multiple inodes
- inodes determined by their node ID
- aliases are taken care of automatically

Remove tail calls of fuse_copy_finish(), since it's now done from
fuse_dev_do_write().

In case of FUSE_NOTIFY_RESEND and FUSE_NOTIFY_INC_EPOCH fuse_copy_finish()
isn't called.
Fix by always calling fuse_copy_finish() after fuse_notify(). It's a no-op
if called a second time.
