Linus Torvalds 8934827db5 Merge tag 'kmalloc_obj-treewide-v7.0-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/kees/linux
Pull kmalloc_obj conversion from Kees Cook:
"This does the tree-wide conversion to kmalloc_obj() and friends using
coccinelle, with a subsequent small manual cleanup of whitespace
alignment that coccinelle does not handle.

This uncovered a clang bug in __builtin_counted_by_ref(), so the
conversion is preceded by disabling that for current versions of
clang. The imminent clang 22.1 release has the fix.

  I've done allmodconfig build tests for x86_64, arm64, i386, and arm. I
did defconfig builds for alpha, m68k, mips, parisc, powerpc, riscv,
s390, sparc, sh, arc, csky, xtensa, hexagon, and openrisc"

Kees Cook 69050f8d6d treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar types
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

yangqixiaoandJon Mason 21fbdc4d0b ntb/ntb_tool: correct sscanf format for u64 and size_t in tool_peer_mw_trans_write
The sscanf() call in tool_peer_mw_trans_write() uses "%lli:%zi" to parse
user input into 'u64 addr' and 'size_t wsize'. This is incorrect:

 - "%lli" expects a signed long long *, but 'addr' is u64 (unsigned).
Input like "0x8000000000000000" is misinterpreted as negative,
   leading to corrupted address values.

 - "%zi" expects a signed ssize_t *, but 'wsize' is size_t (unsigned).
Input of "-1" is successfully parsed and stored as SIZE_MAX
(e.g., 0xFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF), which may cause buffer overflows
or infinite loops in subsequent memory operations.

Fix by using format specifiers that match the actual variable types:
 - "%llu" for u64 (supports hex/decimal, standard for kernel u64 parsing)
 - "%zu" for size_t (standard and safe; rejects negative input)

Dan CarpenterandJon Mason 45e1058b77 NTB: ntb_tool: uninitialized heap data in tool_fn_write()
The call to:

	ret = simple_write_to_buffer(buf, size, offp, ubuf, size);

will return success if it is able to write even one byte to "buf".
The value of "*offp" controls which byte. This could result in
reading uninitialized data when we do the sscanf() on the next line.

This code is not really desigined to handle partial writes where
*offp is non-zero and the "buf" is preserved and re-used between writes.
Just ban partial writes and replace the simple_write_to_buffer() with
copy_from_user().

Logan GunthorpeandJon Mason 34d8673a01 NTB: perf: Fix race condition when run with ntb_test
When running ntb_test, the script tries to run the ntb_perf test
immediately after probing the modules. Since adding multi-port support,
this fails seeing the new initialization procedure in ntb_perf
can not complete instantly.

To fix this we add a completion which is waited on when a test is
started. In this way, run can be written any time after the module is
loaded and it will wait for the initialization to complete instead of
sending an error.

Logan GunthorpeandJon Mason b54369a248 NTB: perf: Fix support for hardware that doesn't have port numbers
Legacy drivers do not have port numbers (but is reliably only two ports)
and was broken by the recent commit that added mult-port support to
ntb_perf. This is especially important to support the cross link
topology which is perfectly symmetric and cannot assign unique port
numbers easily.

Hardware that returns zero for both the local port and the peer should
just always use gidx=0 for the only peer.

This commit fixes pingpong support for existing drivers that do not
implement ntb_default_port_number() and ntb_default_peer_port_number().
This is required for hardware (like the crosslink topology of
switchtec) which cannot assign reasonable port numbers to each port due
to its perfect symmetry.

Instead of picking the doorbell to use based on the the index of the
peer, we use the peer's port number. This is a bit clearer and easier
to understand.
