Eric Biggers e37f28529b crypto: sm3 - Remove 'struct sm3_state'
Update one driver that used sizeof(struct sm3_state) to use
sizeof(struct sm3_ctx) instead.  Then, remove struct sm3_state and
SM3_STATE_SIZE.

This completes the replacement of struct sm3_state with struct sm3_ctx.

Eric Biggers ed065bd06e crypto: sm3 - Replace with wrapper around library
Reimplement the "sm3" crypto_shash on top of the SM3 library, closely
mirroring the other hash algorithms (e.g. SHA-*).

The result, after later commits migrate the architecture-optimized SM3
code into the library as well, is that crypto/sm3.c will be the single
point of integration between crypto_shash and the actual SM3
implementations, simplifying the code.

Note: to see the diff from crypto/sm3_generic.c to crypto/sm3.c, view
this commit with 'git show -M10'.

Eric Biggers 6dc7fce910 crypto: sm3 - Rename CRYPTO_SM3_GENERIC to CRYPTO_SM3
The kconfig options for generic crypto API modules have traditionally
*not* had a "_GENERIC" suffix.  Also, the "_GENERIC" suffix will make
even less sense once the architecture-optimized SM3 code is moved into
lib/crypto/ and the "sm3" crypto_shash is reimplemented on top of that.

Thus, rename CRYPTO_SM3_GENERIC to CRYPTO_SM3.

Eric Biggers 9f4e9553a1 crypto: gcm - Use GHASH library instead of crypto_ahash
Make the "gcm" template access GHASH using the library API instead of
crypto_ahash.  This is much simpler and more efficient, especially given
that all GHASH implementations are synchronous and CPU-based anyway.

Note that this allows "ghash" to be removed from the crypto_ahash (and
crypto_shash) API, which a later commit will do.

This mirrors the similar cleanup that was done with POLYVAL.

Eric Biggers 7137cbf2b5 crypto: aes - Add cmac, xcbc, and cbcmac algorithms using library
Update the "aes" module to implement "cmac(aes)", "xcbc(aes)", and
"cbcmac(aes)" algorithms using the corresponding library functions, and
register these with the crypto_shash API.  Each algorithm is included
only if the corresponding existing kconfig option is enabled.

This allows the architecture-optimized implementations of these
algorithms to continue to be accessible via the crypto_shash API once
they are migrated into the library.

For "xcbc(aes)", I also fixed the bug where AES key lengths other than
128 bits were allowed, so that this bug didn't have to be implemented in
the library.  The AES-XCBC-MAC specification (RFC 3566) is clear that
key lengths other than 128 bits MUST NOT be supported.  AES-XCBC-MAC
derives a 128-bit subkey internally, so the nonstandard support for
longer AES keys didn't really work: AES-128 was still used internally.

In the unlikely event that someone is actually relying on the broken and
nonstandard support for longer AES-XCBC-MAC keys, we can fairly easily
reintroduce it.  But it seems unnecessary: the only user of "xcbc(aes)"
seems to be IPsec, which uses 128-bit keys with it.

Zilin GuanandHerbert Xu ccb679fdae crypto: starfive - Fix memory leak in starfive_aes_aead_do_one_req()
The starfive_aes_aead_do_one_req() function allocates rctx->adata with
kzalloc() but fails to free it if sg_copy_to_buffer() or
starfive_aes_hw_init() fails, which lead to memory leaks.

Since rctx->adata is unconditionally freed after the write_adata
operations, ensure consistent cleanup by freeing the allocation in these
earlier error paths as well.

Compile tested only. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool
and code review.

Eric Biggers a248447427 crypto: aes - Replace aes-generic with wrapper around lib
Now that the AES library's performance has been improved, replace
aes_generic.c with a new file aes.c which wraps the AES library.

In preparation for making the AES library actually utilize the kernel's
existing architecture-optimized AES code including AES instructions, set
the driver name to "aes-lib" instead of "aes-generic".  This mirrors
what's been done for the hash algorithms.  Update testmgr.c accordingly.

Since this removes the crypto_aes_set_key() helper function, add
temporary replacements for it to arch/arm/crypto/aes-cipher-glue.c and
arch/arm64/crypto/aes-cipher-glue.c.  This is temporary, as that code
will be migrated into lib/crypto/ in later commits.

Gustavo A. R. SilvaandHerbert Xu b6f27c0ad0 crypto: starfive - Avoid -Wflex-array-member-not-at-end warning
-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end was introduced in GCC-14, and we are
getting ready to enable it, globally.

Move the conflicting declaration to the end of the corresponding
structure. Notice that `struct ahash_request` is a flexible structure,
this is a structure that contains a flexible-array member.

With these changes fix the following warning:

The return value of sg_nents_for_len was assigned to an unsigned long
in starfive_hash_digest, causing negative error codes to be converted
to large positive integers.

Liao YuanhongandHerbert Xu ce136503bd crypto: jh7110 - Remove the use of dev_err_probe()
Logging messages that show some type of "out of memory" error are generally
unnecessary as there is a generic message and a stack dump done by the
memory subsystem. These messages generally increase kernel size without
much added value[1].

The dev_err_probe() doesn't do anything when error is '-ENOMEM'. Therefore,
remove the useless call to dev_err_probe(), and just return the value
instead.

Eric Biggers e0cd371691 crypto: sha256 - Wrap library and add HMAC support
Like I did for crypto/sha512.c, rework crypto/sha256.c to simply wrap
the normal library functions instead of accessing the low-level arch-
optimized and generic block functions directly.  Also add support for
HMAC-SHA224 and HMAC-SHA256, again just wrapping the library functions.

Since the replacement crypto_shash algorithms are implemented using the
(potentially arch-optimized) library functions, give them driver names
ending with "-lib" rather than "-generic".  Update crypto/testmgr.c and
a couple odd drivers to take this change in driver name into account.

Besides the above cases which are accounted for, there are no known
cases where the driver names were being depended on.  There is
potential for confusion for people manually checking /proc/crypto (e.g.
https://lore.kernel.org/r/9e33c893-2466-4d4e-afb1-966334e451a2@linux.ibm.com/),
but really people just need to get used to the driver name not being
meaningful for the software algorithms.  Historically, the optimized
code was disabled by default, so there was some purpose to checking
whether it was enabled or not.  However, this is now fixed for all SHA-2
algorithms, and the library code just always does the right thing.  E.g.
if the CPU supports SHA-256 instructions, they are used.

This change does also mean that the generic partial block handling code
in crypto/shash.c, which got added in 6.16, no longer gets used.  But
that's fine; the library has to implement the partial block handling
anyway, and it's better to do it in the library since the block size and
other properties of the algorithm are all fixed at compile time there,
resulting in more streamlined code.

Eric Biggers 469acaa125 crypto: sha512 - Replace sha512_generic with wrapper around SHA-512 library
Delete crypto/sha512_generic.c, which provided "generic" SHA-384 and
SHA-512 crypto_shash algorithms.  Replace it with crypto/sha512.c which
provides SHA-384, SHA-512, HMAC-SHA384, and HMAC-SHA512 crypto_shash
algorithms using the corresponding library functions.

This is a prerequisite for migrating all the arch-optimized SHA-512 code
(which is almost 3000 lines) to lib/crypto/ rather than duplicating it.

Since the replacement crypto_shash algorithms are implemented using the
(potentially arch-optimized) library functions, give them
cra_driver_names ending with "-lib" rather than "-generic".  Update
crypto/testmgr.c and one odd driver to take this change in driver name
into account.  Besides these cases which are accounted for, there are no
known cases where the cra_driver_name was being depended on.

After commit 0edb555a65 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove()
return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for
platform drivers.

Convert all platform drivers below drivers/crypto to use .remove(), with
the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As
.remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done
by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer.

Lukas WunnerandHerbert Xu a16a17d3ea crypto: drivers - Drop sign/verify operations
The drivers aspeed-acry.c, hpre_crypto.c and jh7110-rsa.c purport to
implement sign/verify operations for raw (unpadded) "rsa".

But there is no such thing as message digests generally need to be
padded according to a predefined scheme (such as PSS or PKCS#1) to
match the size of the usually much larger RSA keys.

The bogus sign/verify operations defined by these drivers are never
called but block removal of sign/verify from akcipher_alg.  Drop them.
