Rafael J. Wysocki e8d1eb6519 ACPI: TAD/x86: cmos_rtc: Consolidate address space handler setup
On x86, as a rule the CMOS RTC address space handler is set up by the
CMOS RTC ACPI scan handler attach callback, acpi_cmos_rtc_attach(),
but if the ACPI namespace does not contain a CMOS RTC device object,
the CMOS RTC address space handler installation is taken care of the
ACPI TAD (Timer and Alarm Device) driver.

This is not particularly straightforward and can be avoided by adding
the ACPI TAD device ID to the CMOS RTC ACPI scan handler which will
cause it to create a platform device for ACPI TAD after installing
the CMOS RTC address space handler.  One related detail that needs to
be taken care of, though, is that the creation of an ACPI TAD platform
device should not cause cmos_rtc_platform_device_present to be set,
since this may cause add_rtc_cmos() to suppress the creation of a
fallback CMOS RTC platform device which may not be the right thing
to do (for instance, due to the fact that the ACPI TAD driver is
missing an RTC class device interface).

After doing the above, the CMOS RTC address space handler installation
and removal can be dropped from the ACPI TAD driver (which allows it to
be simplified quite a bit), acpi_remove_cmos_rtc_space_handler() can
be dropped and acpi_install_cmos_rtc_space_handler() can be made static.

Update the code as per the above.

Rafael J. Wysocki 2a78e42104 ACPI: x86/rtc-cmos: Use platform device for driver binding
Modify the rtc-cmos driver to bind to a platform device on systems with
ACPI via acpi_match_table and advertise the CMOST RTC ACPI device IDs
for driver auto-loading.  Note that adding the requisite device IDs to
it and exposing them via MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() is sufficient for this
purpose.

Since the ACPI device IDs in question are the same as for the CMOS RTC
ACPI scan handler, put them into a common header file and use the
definition from there in both places.

Additionally, to prevent a PNP device from being created for the CMOS
RTC if a platform one is present already, make is_cmos_rtc_device()
check cmos_rtc_platform_device_present introduced previously.

Rafael J. Wysocki 6cee29ad9d ACPI: x86: cmos_rtc: Improve coordination with ACPI TAD driver
If a CMOS RTC (PNP0B00/PNP0B01/PNP0B02) device coexists with an ACPI
TAD (timer and event alarm device, ACPI000E), the ACPI TAD driver will
attempt to install the CMOS RTC address space hanlder that has been
installed already and the TAD probing will fail.

Avoid that by changing acpi_install_cmos_rtc_space_handler() to return
zero and acpi_remove_cmos_rtc_space_handler() to do nothing if the CMOS
RTC address space handler has been installed already.

 - Rearrange acpi_cmos_rtc_space_handler() to reduce the number of
   redundant checks and make white space follow the coding style.

 - Adjust an error message in acpi_install_cmos_rtc_space_handler()
   and make the white space follow the coding style.

 - Rearrange acpi_remove_cmos_rtc_space_handler() and adjust an error
   message in it.

No intentional functional impact.

Linus Torvalds bf4afc53b7 Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argument
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using

    git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
        xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'

to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

Kees Cook 69050f8d6d treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar types
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

Jakob RiemenschneiderandRafael J. Wysocki 229ecbaac6 ACPI: x86: s2idle: Invoke Microsoft _DSM Function 9 (Turn On Display)
Windows 11, version 22H2 introduced a new function index (Function 9) to
the Microsoft LPS0 _DSM, titled "Turn On Display Notification".

According to Microsoft documentation, this function signals to the system
firmware that the OS intends to turn on the display when exiting Modern
Standby. This allows the firmware to release Power Limits (PLx) earlier.

Crucially, this patch fixes a functional issue observed on the Lenovo Yoga
Slim 7i Aura (15ILL9), where system fans and keyboard backlights fail to
resume after suspend. Investigation linked shows the EC on this device
turns off these components during sleep but requires the Function 9
notification to wake them up again.

This patch defines the new function index (ACPI_MS_TURN_ON_DISPLAY) and
invokes it in acpi_s2idle_restore_early_lps0(). The execution order is
updated to match the logic of an "intent" signal:

 1. LPS0 Exit (Function 6)
 2. Turn On Display Intent (Function 9)
 3. Modern Standby Exit (Function 8)
 4. Screen On (Function 4)

Invoking Function 9 before the Modern Standby Exit ensures the firmware
has time to restore power rails and functionality (like fans) before the
software fully exits the sleep state.

Rafael J. Wysocki 7edf6f7ef5 ACPI: PM: s2idle: Add module parameter for LPS0 constraints checking
Commit 32ece31db4 ("ACPI: PM: s2idle: Only retrieve constraints when
needed") attempted to avoid useless evaluation of LPS0 _DSM Function 1
in lps0_device_attach() because pm_debug_messages_on might never be set
(and that is the case on production systems most of the time), but it
turns out that LPS0 _DSM Function 1 is generally problematic on some
platforms and causes suspend issues to occur when pm_debug_messages_on
is set now.

In Linux, LPS0 _DSM Function 1 is only useful for diagnostics and only
in the cases when the system does not reach the deepest platform idle
state during suspend-to-idle for some reason.  If such diagnostics is
not necessary, evaluating it is a loss of time, so using it along with
the other pm_debug_messages_on diagnostics is questionable because the
latter is expected to be suitable for collecting debug information even
during production use of system suspend.

For this reason, add a module parameter called check_lps0_constraints
to control whether or not the list of LPS0 constraints will be checked
in acpi_s2idle_prepare_late_lps0() and so whether or not to evaluate
LPS0 _DSM Function 1 (once) in acpi_s2idle_begin_lps0().

where they should be done before calling lpi_device_get_constraints()
or lpi_device_get_constraints_amd().

Rafael J. Wysocki 32ece31db4 ACPI: PM: s2idle: Only retrieve constraints when needed
The evaluation of LPS0 _DSM Function 1 in lps0_device_attach() may be
useless if pm_debug_messages_on is never set.

For this reason, instead of evaluating it in lps0_device_attach(), do
that in a new .begin() callback for s2idle, acpi_s2idle_begin_lps0(),
only when pm_debug_messages_on is set at that point.

However, never attempt to evaluate LPS0 _DSM Function 1 more than once
to avoid recurring failures.

The AudioDSP drivers are in control for all functions of the hardware
they have (they are multi-functional devices). The LPSS driver prepares
for enumeration only single devices, such as DMA, UART, SPI, I²C. Hence
the registration of AudioDSP should not be covered. Moreover, the very
same ACPI _HID has been added by the catpt driver a few years ago.

And even more serious issue with this, is that the register window at
offset 0x800 is actually D-SRAM0 in case of AudioDSP and writing to it
is a data corruption.

That all being said, remove the AudioDSP ID from the LPSS driver,
where it doesn't belong to.

Hans de GoedeandRafael J. Wysocki 2fa87c71d2 ACPI: x86: Extend Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 quirk with skip GPIO event-handlers
Depending on the secureboot signature on EFI\BOOT\BOOTX86.EFI the
Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 UEFI will switch its OSID ACPI variable between
1 (Windows) and 4 (Android(GMIN)).

In Windows mode a GPIO event handler gets installed for GPO1 pin 5,
causing Linux' x86-android-tables code which deals with the general
brokenness of this device's ACPI tables to fail to probe with:

[   17.853705] x86_android_tablets: error -16 getting GPIO INT33FF:01 5
[   17.859623] x86_android_tablets x86_android_tablets: probe with driver

which renders sound, the touchscreen, charging-management,
battery-monitoring and more non functional.

Add ACPI_QUIRK_SKIP_GPIO_EVENT_HANDLERS to the existing quirks for this
device to fix this.

Hans de GoedeandRafael J. Wysocki 8f62ca9c33 ACPI: x86: Add skip i2c clients quirk for Vexia EDU ATLA 10 tablet 5V
The Vexia EDU ATLA 10 tablet comes in 2 different versions with
significantly different mainboards. The only outward difference is that
the charging barrel on one is marked 5V and the other is marked 9V.

Both ship with Android 4.4 as factory OS and have the usual broken DSDT
issues for x86 Android tablets.

Add a quirk to skip ACPI I2C client enumeration for the 5V version to
complement the existing quirk for the 9V version.

entries without a comment which model they apply to. Add these comments.

The Asus TF103C entry also is in the wrong place for what is supposed to
be an alphabetically sorted list. Move it up so that the list is properly
sorted and add a comment that the list is alphabetically sorted.

The Acer Iconia One 8 A1-840 (not to be confused with the A1-840FHD which
is a different model) ships with Android 4.4 as factory OS and has the
usual broken DSDT issues for x86 Android tablets.

Add quirks to skip ACPI I2C client enumeration and disable ACPI battery/AC
and ACPI GPIO event handlers.

Also add the "INT33F5" HID for the TI PMIC used on this tablet to the list
of HIDs for which not to skip i2c_client instantiation, since we do want
an ACPI instantiated i2c_client for the PMIC.

it unconditional.

At the moment acpi_quirk_skip_serdev_enumeration() is never called with
a controller_parent without an ACPI companion, but better safe than sorry.

The Vexia EDU ATLA 10 tablet (9V version) which shipped with Android 4.2
as factory OS has the usual broken DSDT issues for x86 Android tablets.

On top of that this tablet is special because all its LPSS island
peripherals are enumerated as PCI devices rather then as ACPI devices as
they typically are.

For the x86-android-tablets kmod to be able to instantiate a serdev client
for the Bluetooth HCI on this tablet, an ACPI_QUIRK_UART1_SKIP quirk is
necessary.

Modify acpi_dmi_skip_serdev_enumeration() to work with PCI enumerated
UARTs without an UID, such as the UARTs on this tablet.

Also make acpi_dmi_skip_serdev_enumeration() exit early if there are no
quirks, since there is nothing to do then.

And add the necessary quirks for the Vexia EDU ATLA 10 tablet.

This should compile with CONFIG_PCI being unset without issues because
dev_is_pci() is defined as "(false)" then.
