KVM/arm64 updates for 7.1

* New features:

- Add support for tracing in the standalone EL2 hypervisor code,
  which should help both debugging and performance analysis.
  This comes with a full infrastructure for 'remote' trace buffers
  that can be exposed by non-kernel entities such as firmware.

- Add support for GICv5 Per Processor Interrupts (PPIs), as the
  starting point for supporting the new GIC architecture in KVM.

- Finally add support for pKVM protected guests, with anonymous
  memory being used as a backing store. About time!

* Improvements and bug fixes:

- Rework the dreaded user_mem_abort() function to make it more
  maintainable, reducing the amount of state being exposed to
  the various helpers and rendering a substantial amount of
  state immutable.

- Expand the Stage-2 page table dumper to support NV shadow
  page tables on a per-VM basis.

- Tidy up the pKVM PSCI proxy code to be slightly less hard
  to follow.

- Fix both SPE and TRBE in non-VHE configurations so that they
  do not generate spurious, out of context table walks that
  ultimately lead to very bad HW lockups.

- A small set of patches fixing the Stage-2 MMU freeing in error
  cases.

- Tighten-up accepted SMC immediate value to be only #0 for host
  SMCCC calls.

- The usual cleanups and other selftest churn.

Ard BiesheuvelandCatalin Marinas 54ac9ff8f1 arm64: Use static call trampolines when kCFI is enabled
Implement arm64 support for the 'unoptimized' static call variety, which
routes all calls through a trampoline that performs a tail call to the
chosen function, and wire it up for use when kCFI is enabled. This works
around an issue with kCFI and generic static calls, where the prototypes
of default handlers such as __static_call_nop() and __static_call_ret0()
don't match the expected prototype of the call site, resulting in kCFI
false positives [0].

Since static call targets may be located in modules loaded out of direct
branching range, this needs an ADRP/LDR pair to load the branch target
into R16 and a branch-to-register (BR) instruction to perform an
indirect call.

Unlike on x86, there is no pressing need on arm64 to avoid indirect
calls at all cost, but hiding it from the compiler as is done here does
have some benefits:
- the literal is located in .rodata, which gives us the same robustness
  advantage that code patching does;
- no D-cache pollution from fetching hash values from .text sections.

From an execution speed PoV, this is unlikely to make any difference at
all.

Vincent DonnefortandMarc Zyngier 0a90fbc8a1 KVM: arm64: Add event support to the nVHE/pKVM hyp and trace remote
Allow the creation of hypervisor and trace remote events with a single
macro HYP_EVENT(). That macro expands in the kernel side to add all
the required declarations (based on REMOTE_EVENT()) as well as in the
hypervisor side to create the trace_<event>() function.

Nathan Chancellor 8678591b47 kbuild: Split .modinfo out from ELF_DETAILS
Commit 3e86e4d74c ("kbuild: keep .modinfo section in
vmlinux.unstripped") added .modinfo to ELF_DETAILS while removing it
from COMMON_DISCARDS, as it was needed in vmlinux.unstripped and
ELF_DETAILS was present in all architecture specific vmlinux linker
scripts. While this shuffle is fine for vmlinux, ELF_DETAILS and
COMMON_DISCARDS may be used by other linker scripts, such as the s390
and x86 compressed boot images, which may not expect to have a .modinfo
section. In certain circumstances, this could result in a bootloader
failing to load the compressed kernel [1].

Commit ddc6cbef3e ("s390/boot/vmlinux.lds.S: Ensure bzImage ends with
SecureBoot trailer") recently addressed this for the s390 bzImage but
the same bug remains for arm, parisc, and x86. The presence of .modinfo
in the x86 bzImage was the root cause of the issue worked around with
commit d50f210913 ("kbuild: align modinfo section for Secureboot
Authenticode EDK2 compat"). misc.c in arch/x86/boot/compressed includes
lib/decompress_unzstd.c, which in turn includes lib/xxhash.c and its
MODULE_LICENSE / MODULE_DESCRIPTION macros due to the STATIC definition.

Split .modinfo out from ELF_DETAILS into its own macro and handle it in
all vmlinux linker scripts. Discard .modinfo in the places where it was
previously being discarded from being in COMMON_DISCARDS, as it has
never been necessary in those uses.

  Quotes are appropriate because (at 6k lines and 100+ commits) it is
  much bigger than the rest, which will come later this week and
  consists mostly of bugfixes and selftests. s390 changes will also come
  in the second batch.

  ARM:

   - Add large stage-2 mapping (THP) support for non-protected guests
     when pKVM is enabled, clawing back some performance.

   - Enable nested virtualisation support on systems that support it,
     though it is disabled by default.

   - Add UBSAN support to the standalone EL2 object used in nVHE/hVHE
     and protected modes.

   - Large rework of the way KVM tracks architecture features and links
     them with the effects of control bits. While this has no functional
     impact, it ensures correctness of emulation (the data is
     automatically extracted from the published JSON files), and helps
     dealing with the evolution of the architecture.

   - Significant changes to the way pKVM tracks ownership of pages,
     avoiding page table walks by storing the state in the hypervisor's
     vmemmap. This in turn enables the THP support described above.

   - New selftest checking the pKVM ownership transition rules

   - Fixes for FEAT_MTE_ASYNC being accidentally advertised to guests
     even if the host didn't have it.

   - Fixes for the address translation emulation, which happened to be
     rather buggy in some specific contexts.

   - Fixes for the PMU emulation in NV contexts, decoupling PMCR_EL0.N
     from the number of counters exposed to a guest and addressing a
     number of issues in the process.

   - Add a new selftest for the SVE host state being corrupted by a
     guest.

   - Keep HCR_EL2.xMO set at all times for systems running with the
     kernel at EL2, ensuring that the window for interrupts is slightly
     bigger, and avoiding a pretty bad erratum on the AmpereOne HW.

   - Add workaround for AmpereOne's erratum AC04_CPU_23, which suffers
     from a pretty bad case of TLB corruption unless accesses to HCR_EL2
     are heavily synchronised.

   - Add a per-VM, per-ITS debugfs entry to dump the state of the ITS
     tables in a human-friendly fashion.

   - and the usual random cleanups.

  LoongArch:

   - Don't flush tlb if the host supports hardware page table walks.

   - Add KVM selftests support.

  RISC-V:

   - Add vector registers to get-reg-list selftest

   - VCPU reset related improvements

   - Remove scounteren initialization from VCPU reset

   - Support VCPU reset from userspace using set_mpstate() ioctl

  x86:

   - Initial support for TDX in KVM.

     This finally makes it possible to use the TDX module to run
     confidential guests on Intel processors. This is quite a large
     series, including support for private page tables (managed by the
     TDX module and mirrored in KVM for efficiency), forwarding some
     TDVMCALLs to userspace, and handling several special VM exits from
     the TDX module.

     This has been in the works for literally years and it's not really
     possible to describe everything here, so I'll defer to the various
     merge commits up to and including commit 7bcf7246c4 ('Merge
     branch 'kvm-tdx-finish-initial' into HEAD')"

Ard BiesheuvelandWill Deacon 93d0d6f8a6 arm64/boot: Move init_pgdir[] and init_idmap_pgdir[] into __pi_ namespace
init_pgdir[] is only referenced from the startup code, but lives after
BSS in the linker map. Before tightening the rules about accessing BSS
from startup code, move init_pgdir[] into the __pi_ namespace, so it
does not need to be exported explicitly.

For symmetry, do the same with init_idmap_pgdir[], although it lives
before BSS.

A recent LLVM commit [1] started generating an .ARM.attributes section
similar to the one that exists for 32-bit, which results in orphan
section warnings (or errors if CONFIG_WERROR is enabled) from the linker
because it is not handled in the arm64 linker scripts.

Masahiro YamadaandCatalin Marinas 340fd66c85 arm64: fix .data.rel.ro size assertion when CONFIG_LTO_CLANG
Commit be2881824a ("arm64/build: Assert for unwanted sections")
introduced an assertion to ensure that the .data.rel.ro section does
not exist.

However, this check does not work when CONFIG_LTO_CLANG is enabled,
because .data.rel.ro matches the .data.[0-9a-zA-Z_]* pattern in the
DATA_MAIN macro.

Move the ASSERT() above the RW_DATA() line.

Ard BiesheuvelandCatalin Marinas 97a6f43bb0 arm64: head: Move early kernel mapping routines into C code
The asm version of the kernel mapping code works fine for creating a
coarse grained identity map, but for mapping the kernel down to its
exact boundaries with the right attributes, it is not suitable. This is
why we create a preliminary RWX kernel mapping first, and then rebuild
it from scratch later on.

So let's reimplement this in C, in a way that will make it unnecessary
to create the kernel page tables yet another time in paging_init().

Ard BiesheuvelandCatalin Marinas dcfe969a64 arm64: head: Run feature override detection before mapping the kernel
To permit the feature overrides to be taken into account before the
KASLR init code runs and the kernel mapping is created, move the
detection code to an earlier stage in the boot.

In a subsequent patch, this will be taken advantage of by merging the
preliminary and permanent mappings of the kernel text and data into a
single one that gets created and relocated before start_kernel() is
called.

Ard BiesheuvelandCatalin Marinas aa99aad798 arm64: head: Clear BSS and the kernel page tables in one go
We will move the CPU feature overrides into BSS in a subsequent patch,
and this requires that BSS is zeroed before the feature override
detection code runs. So let's map BSS read-write in the ID map, and zero
it via this mapping.

Since the kernel page tables are right next to it, and also zeroed via
the ID map, let's drop the separate clear_page_tables() function, and
just zero everything in one go.

Fangrui SongandWill Deacon 0fddb79bf2 arm64: lds: move .got section out of .text
Currently, the .got section is placed within the output section .text.
However, when .got is non-empty, the SHF_WRITE flag is set for .text
when linked by lld. GNU ld recognizes .text as a special section and
ignores the SHF_WRITE flag. By renaming .text, we can also get the
SHF_WRITE flag.

The kernel has performed R_AARCH64_RELATIVE resolving very early, and can
then assume that .got is read-only. Let's move .got to the vmlinux_rodata
pseudo-segment.

As Ard Biesheuvel notes:

"This matters to consumers of the vmlinux ELF representation of the
kernel image, such as syzkaller, which disregards writable PT_LOAD
segments when resolving code symbols. The kernel itself does not care
about this distinction, but given that the GOT contains data and not
code, it does not require executable permissions, and therefore does
not belong in .text to begin with."

Mark RutlandandCatalin Marinas dc4824faa2 arm64: avoid executing padding bytes during kexec / hibernation
Currently we rely on the HIBERNATE_TEXT section starting with the entry
point to swsusp_arch_suspend_exit, and the KEXEC_TEXT section starting
with the entry point to arm64_relocate_new_kernel. In both cases we copy
the entire section into a dynamically-allocated page, and then later
branch to the start of this page.

SYM_FUNC_START() will align the function entry points to
CONFIG_FUNCTION_ALIGNMENT, and when the linker later processes the
assembled code it will place padding bytes before the function entry
point if the location counter was not already sufficiently aligned. The
linker happens to use the value zero for these padding bytes.

This padding may end up being applied whenever CONFIG_FUNCTION_ALIGNMENT
is greater than 4, which can be the case with
CONFIG_DEBUG_FORCE_FUNCTION_ALIGN_64B=y or
CONFIG_DYNAMIC_FTRACE_WITH_CALL_OPS=y.

When such padding is applied, attempting to kexec or resume from
hibernate will result ina crash: the kernel will branch to the padding
bytes as the start of the dynamically-allocated page, and as those bytes
are zero they will decode as UDF #0, which reliably triggers an
UNDEFINED exception. For example:

Note: Unfortunately the code dump reports "bad PC value" as it attempts
to dump some instructions prior to the UDF (i.e. before the start of the
page), and terminates early upon a fault, obscuring the problem.

This patch fixes this issue by aligning the section starter markes to
CONFIG_FUNCTION_ALIGNMENT using the ALIGN_FUNCTION() helper, which
ensures that the linker never needs to place padding bytes within the
section. Assertions are added to verify each section begins with the
function we expect, making our implicit requirement explicit.

In future it might be nice to rework the kexec and hibernation code to
decouple the section start from the entry point, but that involves much
more significant changes that come with a higher risk of error, so I've
tried to keep this fix as simple as possible for now.

the MMU off or via the 1:1 mapping remains. This allows us to move the

Ard BiesheuvelandWill Deacon 68c76ad4a9 arm64: unwind: add asynchronous unwind tables to kernel and modules
Enable asynchronous unwind table generation for both the core kernel as
well as modules, and emit the resulting .eh_frame sections as init code
so we can use the unwind directives for code patching at boot or module
load time.

This will be used by dynamic shadow call stack support, which will rely
on code patching rather than compiler codegen to emit the shadow call
stack push and pop instructions.
