Xiaoyao LiandPaolo Bonzini 15f7a80c49 RAMBlock: Add support of KVM private guest memfd
Add KVM guest_memfd support to RAMBlock so both normal hva based memory
and kvm guest memfd based private memory can be associated in one RAMBlock.

Introduce new flag RAM_GUEST_MEMFD. When it's set, it calls KVM ioctl to
create private guest_memfd during RAMBlock setup.

Allocating a new RAM_GUEST_MEMFD flag to instruct the setup of guest memfd
is more flexible and extensible than simply relying on the VM type because
in the future we may have the case that not all the memory of a VM need
guest memfd. As a benefit, it also avoid getting MachineState in memory
subsystem.

Note, RAM_GUEST_MEMFD is supposed to be set for memory backends of
confidential guests, such as TDX VM. How and when to set it for memory
backends will be implemented in the following patches.

Introduce memory_region_has_guest_memfd() to query if the MemoryRegion has
KVM guest_memfd allocated.

Nicholas PigginandPeter Xu 03bfc2188f physmem: Fix migration dirty bitmap coherency with TCG memory access
The fastpath in cpu_physical_memory_sync_dirty_bitmap() to test large
aligned ranges forgot to bring the TCG TLB up to date after clearing
some of the dirty memory bitmap bits. This can result in stores though
the TCG TLB not setting the dirty memory bitmap and ultimately causes
memory corruption / lost updates during migration from a TCG host.

Fix this by calling cpu_physical_memory_dirty_bits_cleared() when
dirty bits have been cleared.

David Hildenbrand 5c52a219bb softmmu/physmem: Distinguish between file access mode and mmap protection
There is a difference between how we open a file and how we mmap it,
and we want to support writable private mappings of readonly files. Let's
define RAM_READONLY and RAM_READONLY_FD flags, to replace the single
"readonly" parameter for file-related functions.

In memory_region_init_ram_from_fd() and memory_region_init_ram_from_file(),
initialize mr->readonly based on the new RAM_READONLY flag.

While at it, add some RAM_* flags we missed to add to the list of accepted
flags in the documentation of some functions.

No change in functionality intended. We'll make use of both flags next
and start setting them independently for memory-backend-file.

Add an option for hostmem-file to start the memory object at an offset
into the target file. This is useful if multiple memory objects reside
inside the same target file, such as a device node.

In particular, it's useful to map guest memory directly into /dev/mem
for experimentation.

To make this work consistently, also fix up all places in QEMU that

Peter XuandJuan Quintela cedb70eafb migration: Use non-atomic ops for clear log bitmap
Since we already have bitmap_mutex to protect either the dirty bitmap or
the clear log bitmap, we don't need atomic operations to set/clear/test on

Introduced non-atomic version of bitmap_test_and_clear_atomic(), mostly the

Hyman Huang(黄勇)andJuan Quintela 63b41db4bc memory: make global_dirty_tracking a bitmask
since dirty ring has been introduced, there are two methods
to track dirty pages of vm. it seems that "logging" has
a hint on the method, so rename the global_dirty_log to
global_dirty_tracking would make description more accurate.

dirty rate measurement may start or stop dirty tracking during
calculation. this conflict with migration because stop dirty
tracking make migration leave dirty pages out then that'll be
a problem.

make global_dirty_tracking a bitmask can let both migration and
dirty rate measurement work fine. introduce GLOBAL_DIRTY_MIGRATION
and GLOBAL_DIRTY_DIRTY_RATE to distinguish what current dirty
tracking aims for, migration or dirty rate.

David HildenbrandandPaolo Bonzini 8dbe22c686 memory: Introduce RAM_NORESERVE and wire it up in qemu_ram_mmap()
Let's introduce RAM_NORESERVE, allowing mmap'ing with MAP_NORESERVE. The
new flag has the following semantics:

"
RAM is mmap-ed with MAP_NORESERVE. When set, reserving swap space (or huge
pages if applicable) is skipped: will bail out if not supported. When not
set, the OS will do the reservation, if supported for the memory type.
"

Allow passing it into:
- memory_region_init_ram_nomigrate()
- memory_region_init_resizeable_ram()
- memory_region_init_ram_from_file()

... and teach qemu_ram_mmap() and qemu_anon_ram_alloc() about the flag.
Bail out if the flag is not supported, which is the case right now for
both, POSIX and win32. We will add Linux support next and allow specifying
RAM_NORESERVE via memory backends.

The target use case is virtio-mem, which dynamically exposes memory
inside a large, sparse memory area to the VM.

Stefan HajnocziandEduardo Habkost 369d6dc4de memory: add readonly support to memory_region_init_ram_from_file()
There is currently no way to open(O_RDONLY) and mmap(PROT_READ) when
creating a memory region from a file. This functionality is needed since
the underlying host file may not allow writing.

Add a bool readonly argument to memory_region_init_ram_from_file() and
the APIs it calls.

Extend memory_region_init_ram_from_file() rather than introducing a
memory_region_init_rom_from_file() API so that callers can easily make a
choice between read/write and read-only at runtime without calling
different APIs.

No new RAMBlock flag is introduced for read-only because it's unclear
whether RAMBlocks need to know that they are read-only. Pass a bool
readonly argument instead.

Both of these design decisions can be changed in the future. It just
seemed like the simplest approach to me.

Stefan Hajnoczi d73415a315 qemu/atomic.h: rename atomic_ to qatomic_
clang's C11 atomic_fetch_*() functions only take a C11 atomic type
pointer argument. QEMU uses direct types (int, etc) and this causes a
compiler error when a QEMU code calls these functions in a source file
that also included <stdatomic.h> via a system header file:

  $ CC=clang CXX=clang++ ./configure ... && make
  ../util/async.c:79:17: error: address argument to atomic operation must be a pointer to _Atomic type ('unsigned int *' invalid)

Avoid using atomic_*() names in QEMU's atomic.h since that namespace is
used by <stdatomic.h>. Prefix QEMU's APIs with 'q' so that atomic.h
and <stdatomic.h> can co-exist. I checked /usr/include on my machine and
searched GitHub for existing "qatomic_" users but there seem to be none.

This patch was generated using:

  $ git grep -h -o '\<atomic\(64\)\?_[a-z0-9_]\+' include/qemu/atomic.h | \
    sort -u >/tmp/changed_identifiers
  $ for identifier in $(</tmp/changed_identifiers); do
        sed -i "s%\<$identifier\>%q$identifier%g" \
            $(git grep -I -l "\<$identifier\>")
    done

I manually fixed line-wrap issues and misaligned rST tables.
