Julian GanzandAlex Bennée ed7b86888e target/hppa: call plugin trap callbacks
We identified a number of exceptions as interrupts, and we assume every
other exception is a (syncroneous) exceptions. PA-RISC appears to not
have any form of host-call.

This change places the hook for PA-RISC targets.

Peter MaydellandPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé 1a8ffd6172 target/hppa: Set FPCR exception flag bits for non-trapped exceptions
In commit ebd394948d ("target/hppa: Fix FPE exceptions") when
we added the code for setting up the registers correctly on trapping
FP exceptions, we accidentally broke the handling of the flag bits
for non-trapping exceptions.

In update_fr0_op() we incorrectly zero out the flag bits and the C
bit, so any fp operation would clear previously set flag bits. We
also stopped setting the flag bits when the fp operation raises
an exception and the trap is not enabled.

Adjust the code so that we set the Flag bits for every exception that
happened and where the trap is not enabled. (This is the correct
behaviour for the case where an instruction triggers two exceptions,
one of which traps and one of which does not; that can only happen
for inexact + underflow or inexact + overflow.)

Gabriel BrookmanandPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé cea82f8cdd target/hppa: correct size bit parity for fmpyadd
For the fmpyadd instruction on the hppa architecture, there is a bit
used to specify whether the instruction is operating on a 32 bit or
64 bit floating point register. For most instructions, such a bit is 0
when operating on the smaller register and 1 when operating on the
larger register. However, according to page 6-57 of the PA-RISC 1.1
Architecture and Instruction Set Reference Manual, this convention is
reversed for the fmpyadd instruction specifically, meaning the bit is
1 for operations on 32 bit registers and 0 for 64 bit registers. See
also page 6-18 (fig. 6-8) and 6-19 (table 6-16), where the f field
for FMPYADD and FMPYSUB is documented. Previously, QEMU decoded this
operation as operating on the other size of register, leading to bugs
when translating the fmpyadd instruction. This patch fixes that issue.

Philippe Mathieu-Daudé 7307ff9558 target/hppa: Replace MO_TE -> MO_BE
We only build the PA-RISC targets using big endianness order:

  $ git grep TARGET_BIG_ENDIAN configs/targets/hppa-*
  configs/targets/hppa-linux-user.mak:5:TARGET_BIG_ENDIAN=y
  configs/targets/hppa-softmmu.mak:2:TARGET_BIG_ENDIAN=y

Therefore the MO_TE definition always expands to MO_BE. Use the
latter to simplify.

Helge Deller ebd394948d target/hppa: Fix FPE exceptions
Implement FP exception register #1 (lower 32-bits of 64-bit fr[0]).
A proper implementation is necessary to allow the Linux kernel in
system mode and the qemu linux-user to send proper si_code values
on SIGFPE signal.

Always set the T-bit on taken exception, and merge over- and underflow
in system mode to just set overflow bit to mimic the behaviour I tested
on a physical machine.

The test program below can be used to verify correct behaviour. Note
that behaviour on SIGFPE may vary on different platforms. The program
should always detect the correct signal, but it may or may not be able
to sucessfully continue afterwards.

 #define _GNU_SOURCE
 #include <signal.h>
 #include <stdio.h>
 #include <fenv.h>
 #include <float.h>

 static void fpe_func(int sig, siginfo_t *i, void *v) {
    sigset_t set;
    sigemptyset(&set);
    sigaddset(&set, SIGFPE);
    sigprocmask(SIG_UNBLOCK, &set, NULL);
    printf("GOT signal %d with si_code %ld\n", sig, i->si_code);
 }

 int main(int argc, char *argv[]) {
    struct sigaction action = {
        .sa_sigaction = fpe_func,
        .sa_flags = SA_RESTART|SA_SIGINFO };
    sigaction(SIGFPE, &action, 0);
    feenableexcept(FE_OVERFLOW | FE_UNDERFLOW);
    double x = DBL_MIN;
    return printf("%lf\n", argc > 1
        ? 1.7976931348623158E308*1.7976931348623158E308

Helge Deller 923976dfe3 target/hppa: Copy instruction code into fr1 on FPU assist fault
The hardware stores the instruction code in the lower bits of the FP
exception register #1 on FP assist traps.
This fixes the FP exception handler on Linux, as the Linux kernel uses
the value to decide on the correct signal which should be pushed into
userspace (see decode_fpu() in Linux kernel).
