bbb2cea7e8 perf tools: Add --debug optionto set debug variable 
Adding --debug option as a way to setup debug variables.  Starting with
support for verbose, more will come.

It's possible to use it now with report command:
  $ perf --debug verbose   ...
  $ perf --debug verbose=2 ...

I'll need this support to add separated debug variable for ordered
events change in order to separate debug output out of standard verbose
stream.

1b5726220f perf trace: Warn the user when not available 
When the audit-libs devel package is not found at build time we disable
the 'trace' command, as we are not able to map syscall numbers to
strings, but then the message the user is presented is cryptic:

  [root@zoo linux]# trace ls
  perf: 'ls' is not a perf-command. See 'perf --help'.

Fix it by presenting a more helpful message:

  [root@zoo linux]# trace l
  trace command not available: missing audit-libs devel package at build time.

553873e1df tools/: Convert to new topic libraries 
Move debugfs.* to api/fs/. We have a common tools/lib/api/ place where
the Makefile lives and then we place the headers in subdirs.

For example, all the fs-related stuff goes to tools/lib/api/fs/ from
which we get libapikfs.a (acme got almost the naming he wanted :-)) and
we link it into the tools which need it - in this case perf and
tools/vm/page-types.

acme:

"Looking at the implementation, I think some tools can even link
directly to the .o files, avoiding the .a file altogether.

But that is just an optimization/finer granularity tools/lib/
cherrypicking that toolers can make use of."

Fixup documentation cleaning target while at it.

Add config option for launching GTK browser for the specified command by
default.  Currently only 'report' command is supported.

Adding following line to the perfconfig file will have a same effect of
specifying --gtk option on command line (unless other related options
are not given).

52502bf201 perf tests: Add framework for automated perf_event_attr tests 
The idea is run perf session with kidnapping sys_perf_event_open
function. For each sys_perf_event_open call we store the perf_event_attr
data to the file to be checked later against what we expect.

You can run this by:
  $ python ./tests/attr.py -d ./tests/attr/ -p ./perf -v

v2 changes:
  - preserve errno value in the hook

70cb4e963f perf tools: Add a global variable "const char *input_name" 
Currently many perf commands annotate/evlist/report/script/lock etc all
support "-i" option to chose a specific perf data, and all of them
create a local "input_name" to save the file name for that perf data.

Since most of these commands need it, we can add a global variable for
it, also it can some other benefits:

1. When calling script browser inside hists/annotation browser, it needs
to know the perf data file name to run that script.

2. For further feature like runtime switching to another perf data file,
this variable can also help.

However it can cause a build error because it's not checked whether the
libaudit is installed on system:

Initially should look loosely like the venerable 'strace' tool, but
using the infrastructure in the perf tools to allow tracing extra
targets:

      -p, --pid <pid>       trace events on existing process id
          --tid <tid>       trace events on existing thread id
          --all-cpus        system-wide collection from all CPUs

          --mmap-pages <n>  number of mmap data pages
          --uid <user>      user to profile

Those should have the same semantics as when using with 'perf record'.

It gets stuck sometimes, but hey, it works sometimes too!

In time it should support perf.data based workloads, i.e. it should have
a:
	-o filename

Command line option that will produce a perf.data file that can then be
used with 'perf trace' or any of the other perf tools (script, report,
etc).

It will also eventually have the set of functionalities described in the
previous 'trace' prototype by Thomas Gleixner:

27683dc5cc perf tools: include missing pthread.h header 
pthread variables are used in some files without explicitely including
pthread.h. This leads to compile errors on Android. e.g.: in annotate.h,
error: unknown type name 'pthread_mutex_t'

Including pthread.h explicitely in files that use it to have all definitions
included.

393be2e374 perf symbols: Support minimal build without libelf 
Now we have isolated all ELF-specific stuff, it's possible to build
without libelf. The output binary can do most of jobs but lacks (user
level) symbol information - kernel symbols are still accessable thanks
to the kallsyms.

To build perf without libelf (elfutils), give NO_LIBELF=1 to make.

For now, only 'perf probe' command is removed since it depends on
libelf/libdw heavily.
