Uwe Kleine-König e19b7cee02 make use of make variable CURDIR instead of calling pwd
make already provides the current working directory in a variable, so make
use of it instead of forking a shell. Also replace usage of PWD by
CURDIR. PWD is provided by most shells, but not all, so this makes the
build system more robust.

Jiri Olsa fe316723a8 tools lib traceevent: Add version for traceevent shared object
Adding version support for libtraceevent.so object.

Using the existing EVENT_PARSE_VERSION variable to construct
the .so object version string, which now consists of:

  $(EP_VERSION).$(EP_PATCHLEVEL).$(EP_EXTRAVERSION)

Looks like it was created for this purpose anyway.

The build will now produce following traeceevent libraries:

  $ ll libtraceevent*
  libtraceevent.a
  libtraceevent.so -> libtraceevent.so.1.1.0
  libtraceevent.so.1 -> libtraceevent.so.1.1.0
  libtraceevent.so.1.1.0

Also the install target will carry them:

  $ make DESTDIR=/tmp/krava prefix=/usr install
  INSTALL  trace_plugins
  INSTALL  libtraceevent.a
  INSTALL  libtraceevent.so.1.1.0

  $ find /tmp/krava/ | xargs ls -l
  ...
  /tmp/krava/usr/lib64:
  total 572
  libtraceevent.a
  libtraceevent.so -> libtraceevent.so.1.1.0
  libtraceevent.so.1 -> libtraceevent.so.1.1.0
  libtraceevent.so.1.1.0
  ...

He Kuang e3d09ec812 tools lib traceevent: Export dynamic symbols used by traceevent plugins
Traceevent plugins need dynamic symbols exported from libtraceevent.a,
otherwise a dlopen error will occur during plugins loading.

This patch uses dynamic-list-file to export dynamic symbols which will
be used in plugins to perf executable.

The problem is covered up if feature-libpython is enabled, because
PYTHON_EMBED_LDOPTS contains '-Xlinker --export-dynamic' which adds all
symbols to the dynamic symbol table. So we should reproduce the problem
by setting NO_LIBPYTHON=1.

Before this patch:

  (Prepare plugins)
  $ ls /root/.traceevent/plugins/
  plugin_sched_switch.so
  plugin_function.so
  ...

  $ perf record -e 'ftrace:function' ls

  $ perf script

After this patch:

  $ perf record -e 'ftrace:function' ls
  $ perf script

Wang Nan bb53e176fe tools lib traceevent: Install libtraceevent.a into libdir
Before this patch, 'make install' installs libraries into bindir:

  $ make install DESTDIR=./tree
   INSTALL  trace_plugins
   INSTALL  libtraceevent.a
   INSTALL  libtraceevent.so
  $ find ./tree
   ./tree/
   ./tree/usr
   ./tree/usr/local
   ./tree/usr/local/bin
   ./tree/usr/local/bin/libtraceevent.a
   ./tree/usr/local/bin/libtraceevent.so
   ...

/usr/local/lib( or lib64) should be a better place.

This patch replaces 'bin' with libdir. For __LP64__ building, libraries
are installed to /usr/local/lib64. For other building, to
/usr/local/lib instead.

After applying this patch:

  $ make install DESTDIR=./tree
   INSTALL  trace_plugins
   INSTALL  libtraceevent.a
   INSTALL  libtraceevent.so
  $ find ./tree
   ./tree
   ./tree/usr
   ./tree/usr/local
   ./tree/usr/local/lib64
   ./tree/usr/local/lib64/libtraceevent.a
   ./tree/usr/local/lib64/traceevent
   ./tree/usr/local/lib64/traceevent/plugins
   ./tree/usr/local/lib64/traceevent/plugins/plugin_mac80211.so
   ./tree/usr/local/lib64/traceevent/plugins/plugin_hrtimer.so

Josh Boyer b935a58dbf perf tools: Fix traceevent plugin path definitions
The plugindir_SQ definition contains $(prefix) which is not needed as
the $(libdir) definition already contains prefix in it. This leads to
the path including an extra prefix in it, e.g. /usr/usr/lib64.

The -DPLUGIN_DIR defintion includes DESTDIR. This is incorrect, as it
sets the plugin search path to include the value of DESTDIR. DESTDIR is
a mechanism to install in a non-standard location such as a chroot or an
RPM build root. In the RPM case, this leads to the search path being
incorrect after the resulting RPM is installed (or in some cases an RPM
build failure).

Remove both of these unnecessary inclusions.

Jiri Olsa 9bb8e5edcf tools lib traceevent: Shut up plugins make message

  $ make O=/tmp/build/perf -C tools/perf/ install-bin
  ...
  make[3]: Nothing to be done for `plugins'.
  make[2]: Nothing to be done for `plugins'.

which triggers when traceevent library needs to be rebuilt, but we have
plugins built already.

Adding extra 'plugins' target with nop which is visible and triggers in
both Makefile parts (for detached output directory (O=...) the
traceevent Makefile spawns sub make for the build itself).

Removing options support as it's not backported yet.
Currently this plugin supports 2 options:
 'parent' to display parent function
 'indent' to show function call indents

Enabling both of them by default.
